What you’ll be doing...

This role will support a large automotive client. The Manufacturing LAN Planner will manage an IT infrastructure project plan in Canada & Detroit Metro from beginning to end.


  • Provide leadership for build out teams comprised of technical IT staff.
  • Execute procurement tasks and work within a predefined budget.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths, plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify issues, and devise contingency plans.
  • Provide frequent on-site monitoring and enforcement of installation schedules and vendor quality.
  • Inspect prospective and completed facilities in accordance with corporate standards and procedures; and ensure proper follow-up on punch lists and warranty work.
  • Manage budgets for both labor and material and provide an estimate to completion of each project on a regular basis.
  • Manage multiple projects in multiple locations simultaneously.
  • Design, implement, and communicate detailed project plans with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure timely project completion.
  • Constant and consistent analysis of existing infrastructure, cabling bids and specifications.
  • Price new projects, attend meetings, and propose solutions to installation issues.
  • Build and Maintain customer relationships.
  • Manage vendors and a team of workers to complete projects.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Network design and implementation experience.
  • Experience in core internet, networking, and telecommunications concepts.
  • Experience in Excel, Word and Visio.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • PMP Certification.
  • CCNP certification.
  • Two or more years of project management experience successfully delivering projects on-time, within budget, and in scope.
  • Four or more years of network design and implementation experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, and low voltage cabling.
  • Contract Management experience.
  • Cable or Systems experience with: Wireless Access Control, LAN, WAN, VoIP, Video, Security.
  • Experience with Cable Design.
  • Experience in large Enterprise manufacturing environments (automotive).
  • Knowledge of cabling guidelines for specific areas (to be determined by location).
  • Understanding of BICSI standards and all low voltage cabling codes and requirements.
