What you’ll be doing...

Verizon’s consumer video product strategy is dynamically evolving based on marketplace dynamics, and an infusion of new technology and solutions for customers to fully realize the benefits/superiority of our core services, including 5G Home, Fios Video & Broadband and Wireless data. Potential applications include the development of Verizon streaming device(s), creating a video platform capable of driving user engagement, and assembling a best in class content lineup through both Oath and industry-leading vMVPD, SVOD, and AVOD partner apps. These video solutions will be designed to create differentiated experiences that produce new revenue for Verizon’s wireline and wireless business units.

As Web Services product manager, you will be responsible for managing and leading the product development efforts of next generation web services for integrated video experiences across set-top box, mobile and web clients for Verizon, for both Fios and 5G OTT video products. Developing robust and scalable web services is critical for building and supporting current and future Verizon video products. These web services power the Verizon Fios television experience with images and metadata, content management systems used by curation and merchandising teams, as well as future 5G and wireless video products and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and advocate for platform and feature prioritization based on customer feedback, competitive analysis, market trends, and intuition.
  • Work closely with client PMs (stb, mobile, web) to define services that address the requirements for client feature development, for both Fios and 5G OTT video products.
  • Work with other internal and external stakeholders to understand and align on features and priorities.
  • Create detailed business and product requirements, maintaining a backlog, prioritize features and working closely with design and development partners to bring the products to life.
  • Define and maintain product roadmap for video web services.
  • Lead technical conversations with development teams while supporting the definition of development roadmaps.
  • Work with a larger cross-functional team to define the team's product strategy and detailed roadmap.
  • Work hands-on with development, QA, designers, business, marketing and operations teams to successfully design, build, and deploy product features.
  • Analyze, manage, iterate and track the continued success of features in production using user feedback and tracking metrics.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or MBA or relevant experience.
  • Experience in an internet and/or social media Product Management leadership role.
  • Experience building and managing scalable internet products.
  • Experience managing product development efforts for Internet TV or Video products.
  • Experience with Mobile and Web Services full cycle product development.
  • Experience in Agile methodology.
