What you’ll be doing...

You will be responsible for the monitoring, testing, preventative maintenance and repair of HVAC infrastructure equipment and associated electrical, alarming and monitoring systems, to ensure they remain in a fully operational condition, utilizing their knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and structural layout, per specifications and operational procedures in Verizon Network Facility locations. You will perform maintenance and repair of the physical facilities structures, security and peripheral systems. You will handle the emergency power backup systems and physical facility remedies at all technical facilities. You will be a first responder during natural disasters or any facilities threat to the network’s integrity.

  • Provide all maintenance and repair of all heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems, and related energy management systems.
  • Maintain, diagnoses, test, overhaul, install, and repair a variety of refrigeration, dehumidification, AC, ventilation, and heating systems.
  • Train other Building Engineers in basic HVAC preventative maintenance.
  • Perform specialized building equipment maintenance tasks and maintain tasks logs and equipment inventories in Company owned and leased buildings.
  • Adjust cooling, heating, reheating, preheating, and humidity to control environmental conditions required by the equipment and company standards.
  • Operate, maintain, and repair heating systems, boiler control systems to meet manufacturer's specifications and company standards.
  • Inspect current HVAC systems for effectiveness and safety.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
  • Supports the development of a refrigerant management plan to meet contract requirements.
  • Assist Program Management by providing specialized knowledge on capital improvement jobs.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.
  • Active refrigeration license and eligibility to maintain.
  • Eligibility to obtain a certificate of fitness for one or all of the following: oil burner, fire standpipe, sprinkler, and air compressor operations. All certificates of fitness must be posted in work area.
  • Department of Transportation (DOT) Certification or eligibility to obtain.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift up pto 100LBS

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Five or more years of experience in ventilating and air conditioning, plumbing, electrical work and heating plant operations and maintenance.
  • Commercial HVAC experience.
  • Vocation or Technical school training in ventilating, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical work and heating plant operations and maintenance.
