What you’ll be doing...

The Federal Transition and Transformation Program Manager will manage and oversee all activities associated with the transition of service from an incumbent provider to Verizon for a major Federal customer outsourcing program, managing multiple teams directly and indirectly such as Access Management, Provisioning Delivery, Equipment Warehouse Operations, Field Operations, Engineering, Security Operations, Managed Service Delivery, Reporting, Federal Billing, and Vendor Management. This position will be responsible for overseeing all Transition commitments and associated resources worldwide to ensure project transition objectives are met, costs are within budget, customer satisfaction is met, and Verizon global corporate policies are adhered to. Accountable for the development, and the successful execution, of the transition project and program plans, and responsible for managing specific program objectives. Work with the most senior customer representatives and Verizon executives.


  • Manage all Transition Program activities worldwide and across all Delivery organizations in terms of tactical decisions, day-to-day management, planning, meeting intermediate objectives, staffing, escalations and reporting.
  • Responsible for all T&T planning, execution, reporting and related escalation management for LAN, WAN, and Firewall complexes, IT infrastructure management (hosting, applications support, other) as anticipated in the customer contract.
  • Provide direction to all Competence Center owners, and Functional managers with input, context, prioritization and execution of Transition Program activities in all operating regions.
  • Assist all Functional owners and TPV Planning and Management groups with planning, prioritization and execution of Program activities in the region.
  • Manage the communication plan to ensure all customer concerns are addressed readily.
  • All processes are documented and efficiently working for the Program as applicable.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Project or program management experience.
  • Six or more years of project and program management experience for a large Federal customer.
  • Six or more years of experience managing the network transition of a multifaceted Federal customer, with multiple services, of at least 2000 locations.
  • Six or more years of experience managing a budget and costs.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have:

  • A master’s degree.
  • Experience with Verizon Delivery organizations and processes.
  • PMP certification.
