What you’ll be doing...

Under close to moderate supervision, this position performs routine to moderately complex billing tasks, analytical assignments, and designs and prepares basic reports as an Individual Contributor. The majority of the functions performed will be for the monthly review of Verizon’s larger contract customers to assure compliance with contractual commitments and the accuracy of contractual rates and discounts.

  • Performs customer specific audits of billing data, which includes Identifying and implementing a solution for acquiring the data, to identify errors and contractual incompliance.
  • Researches customer specific audit variances and identify and implement a solution for charges to be correctly invoiced, credits to be given, and customer reporting to be provided. This requires collaborating with management and multiple teams to identify a solution to the problem.
  • Researches issues and disputes submitted by internal and external customers and identifies and implements a solution to resolve the dispute. This includes coordination of rating corrections, calculation and posting of corrective adjustments, providing written communication of issue resolution, and creating any customer required reporting.
  • Monitors customer contractual commitments, calculates and issues contractual penalties as needed. Tracks, calculates and posts customer contractual credits.
  • Collaborates with management, sales and service, PCM, Legal, Presales Tax and Revenue Accounting to define non-standard, customer specific billing solutions.
  • Provides ongoing support of non-standard billing solutions, including identifying and gathering billing data, calculating and posting charges, and creating and distributing the invoice.
  • Produces standard monthly reports and creates non-standard ad hoc reports for customers and account teams.
  • Participates in new system or product implementations, which includes requirement writing, UAT, creating user documentation and training the organization.
  • Creates and implements new processes required because of new responsibilities being acquired.
  • Providing assistance/educating other analysts on how to investigate complicated issues.
  • Partners with team members and supervisor to identify and implement business improvements to achieve ongoing operational efficiencies.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook).

Even better if you have:

  • A degree or BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize own work load and meet deadlines, be flexible, creative, resourceful, and able to handle multiple demands and competing priorities efficiently.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in the communication industry with an understanding of Verizon billing systems, products and services.
