What you’ll be doing...

The Verizon Retail Distribution Strategy team is responsible for synthesizing the business unit’s overarching sales, marketing, and customer experience strategies into a plan of action for Verizon’s physical retail distribution channels (corporate owned, agents, and National Retailers). In addition, a new Distribution Strategy Execution Team is being stood up to prioritize, manage, and support the 2019-2021 Sales Distribution effort.

The major strategic goals and trade-offs that will shape the 2019-2021 deliverables for Sales Distribution have been consolidated into seven Pillars of work to be led by different VPs throughout the organization. From these pillars, four separate Workstreams have been identified and need to be cared for. As the Manager, Program/Project Management, you will be responsible for managing one of these four Workstreams. You will be responsible for monitoring your Pillars and mitigating the risk of disconnected initiatives, which might not deliver value on their own.

  • Organize your Pillar teams, assemble functional SMEs, and manage internal readouts.
  • Develop Pillar roadmaps and order and sequence projects inside that roadmap.
  • Coordinate with the other Pillars/Workstreams and their Program/Project Managers and extended VP teams to align on dependencies, risks, and measurement system requirements.
  • Interlock with IT prioritization processes, etc.
  • Manage readouts to VCG EG, the Steering team, leadership, your Director, etc.
  • Workflow Oversight: Working closely with the Director of Distribution Strategy, you will be responsible for monitoring the initiatives your Pillars and VP teams are implementing, and you will ensure that you are familiar with each initiative’s goals, major milestones, and progress. You’ll work to ensure the team’s resources are aligned to the most important projects, and you will update leadership on their progress and outcomes.
  • Project Management: You will assemble cross-functional teams and manage their time and expectations. You’ll be expected to clearly scope projects, define goals, and create measurement systems for success and present on project progress and outcomes to an audience of Directors and above.
