***This position can be based out of any primary U.S. based Verizon office.***

Joining a Center of Excellence as an individual contributing manager, you will be leading projects involving guided systems support technologies and training environments supporting Verizon’s global enterprise. Utilizing in the moment, contextualized guidance your learning applications will improve learning retention and speed to proficiency for employees using Verizon’s business applications and systems while reducing cost to the business. The candidate is expected to be highly technical, possess strong critical thinking skills and operate with a high degree of autonomy.

This manager is responsible for leading project teams in pioneering new systems training solutions. The position requires cross business group partnership within IT and business leadership and relationship building at levels beyond their own (i.e., Associate Directors, Directors, Exec. Directors, VPs) as well as managing prolonged analysis and evaluation of technical solutions that address systems training challenges.

  • Directs multiple project teams in assessing systems training and performance needs by engaging with learning and business leaders; possesses a broad range of autonomy with decision-making and recommendations.
  • Consults with multiple senior business leaders in operations, sales, service, IT and L&D on how to address and solve complex business objectives; operates with a large degree of self-direction and autonomy
  • Coordinates with multiple project managers in different business units to understand and respond to needs to deliver effective tools while overcoming complex technical, legal, regulatory and compliance challenges.
  • Leads contract management in partnership with global sourcing, export control and contract managers.
  • Leads vendor relationships and management, with little to no intervention from leadership.
  • Possesses expert knowledge of training needs analysis, program design, training evaluation/impact, adult learning theory and project management.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven experience leading a project team.
  • Proven experience with learning and development, facilitation and/or content development.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of IT infrastructure, network integration and software configurations.
  • Ability to understand, interpret and explain complex concepts and processes between IT and business leadership.

  • Consulted with HR professionals and their business clients.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and training approaches.
  • Managed multiple projects effectively balancing timeliness and quality in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong negotiating and vendor management skills
  • Experience in programming languages such as HTML, JavaScript, JQuery and SQL
  • Masters in corporate education, instructional design or marketing a plus
  • Lean/Six Sigma certified
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Experience in application development
  • Experience working through application requirements, design, development, QA & UAT testing, implementing, and delivering in release cycles and to end users.
