What you’ll be doing...

Verizon’s Content Strategy, Acquisition & Programming team is responsible for developing robust content strategies and acquiring premium and differentiated linear and digital video programming across all of Verizon’s owned and operated platforms. Verizon is seeking an experienced and seasoned self-starter that can work cross-functionally, both internally across business groups, and externally with broadcast and cable networks, sports leagues, and other top content providers to develop innovative partnership models and to optimize the 300+ and growing number of Verizon partnerships in the content industry.

This person will join a team that is responsible for a broad range of strategic, multi-platform content-focused initiatives covering both new and established product lines within Verizon’s FIOS, Mobile, OTT, Broadband and 5G platforms and across Verizon O&O media platforms.

This team is responsible for the development, acquisition, distribution and execution of the Verizon Content Strategy with a focus on customer satisfaction, innovation and revenue growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage deal modeling team and act as liaison with VCG finance and legal teams
  • Spearhead partner audits and settlements for Fios and OTT
  • Revenue-generating initiatives/special projects for 5G and OTT
  • Accountable for driving cost and revenue-generating initiatives, zero-based budgeting, manage audits & settlements across the business
  • Manages and tracks revenue from Fios advertising sales, new sales initiatives,TVOD/SVOD and OTT products.
  • Oversee all Fios-related Operations work including signal acquisition, delivery and capacity allocation, VOD-related operations, implement any packaging changes, new channel launches and removals; operational lead for any potential or actual disputes and work closely with marketing regarding lineups and channel contractual compliance
  • Responsible for leading team who builds & improves cross-business unit content rights database to drive content efficiency, advanced analytics, insights and reporting for content initiatives
  • Manage CRM Build: Lead assessment and integration of content data and analytics integration enhancements to Phase 2 Content Org CRM
  • Lead business intelligence team to align 5-year content strategy and deal negotiation plans across business units’ ZBB goals
  • Drive implementation of content strategies and content acquisition deals by working with Verizon business leads, product, operational and marketing teams; lead process and governance to drive decisions
  • Partner management and operations of ongoing partnerships to maximize content relationships
  • QBRs for major content partnerships, like Disney and NFL.
  • 5G liaison with network and product teams to track content capabilities and needs
  • Work with leadership team to integrate projects and initiatives into a holistic roadmap grouped by key strategic priorities
  • Oversee all team operations, including $50M operating budget & $4.2B / year content budget, and deal memo approval flow
  • Manage monthly budget reporting with agency and internal business units.
  • Develop spend projections with internal finance teams.
  • Provide weekly reporting to senior management to garner approvals on invoices.
  • Develop quarterly best views of all budgets to ensure finance is accruing to accurate totals.
  • Responsible for Executive reporting and presentation materials. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring preparation, coordination and facilitation of meetings, develop charters and agendas and disseminate key outcomes, decisions, and actions to relevant stakeholders.
  • Drive opportunities to streamline processes and create efficiencies across the organization
  • Support inquires directed to the VP to determine the proper course of action and delegate to the appropriate individual and/or assist in directly addressing inquiries or in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Varied ad hoc projects and reports that require coordination across the various teams, as required.

What we’re looking for...

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Masters / MBA preferred
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience
  • Direct management and supervisory experience
  • Extensive PMO experience, implementing complex deals with multiple internal and external stakeholders according to tight deadlines
  • Detailed understanding of the intricacies of the studio system and content production/distribution ecosystem across Networks, Cablenets, and digital content production companies
  • Comfortable taking on new technical or management skills with minimal prep in exceedingly short time
  • Comfortable facilitating meetings with executives, VP and above, both internal and with external Content Partners
  • Experience leading cross-functional team members of all levels, including executives, and maintaining accountability for major business initiatives.
  • Deliver concise storyline and strategy updates for key senior updates and operational reviews
  • Self-starter that learns and adapts quickly to frequently changing priorities
  • Ability to work effectively within time constraints
  • Effective verbal and written communication

  • Familiarity with Channel Readiness and Operational teams
  • Experience in Strategy, Finance, Customer Experience or Business Transformation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel; expert in PowerPoint presentation creation
  • Proficient in Google Suite; expert in Google Slides
