What you’ll be doing...

Our Global Supply Chain team is hiring a passionate and strategic thinker to join a high profile, high visibility team that powers Network Category Intelligence for Verizon.

You will be part of a team that drives sourcing decisions about how we invest in our customers through our network. This includes working with a team to build state-of-the-art data analytics and models to transform raw data into actionable insights that can be used in our sourcing plans.

We shape multi-billion-dollar supply chain strategies for Verizon’s award winning 4G LTE network, and next-generation investments into 5G. This is a job for an intelligent, decisive, quick, and forward-thinking leader.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Category Intelligence team & the Data Analytics team developing solutions & roadmaps for Network Category Intelligence.
  • Partner to develop solutions to complex descriptive, predictive & prescriptive modeling challenges, including enhancement of Network Category Intelligence and Teardown Lab operations.
  • Lead strategic analytics projects, leveraging advanced analytics to optimize processes and procedures that lead to improved Global Supply Chain KPIs, process optimization and cost reduction.
  • Partner with Design and implement data architecture, analytics environments, and methodologies for analyzing and storing large sets of structured and unstructured data.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapt to changing priorities and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Partner with Network Category Intelligence Leads, Network Planning, and the Teardown Lab to understand key objectives.
  • Collaborate with data management engineers and business stakeholders to ensure data governance and standards.
  • Build on work completed by teams cross-functionally to achieve a shared goal.
  • Positively impact others with a data driven approach to work.
  • Prepare executive level presentations to clearly articulate results of complex mathematical analyses.
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets, draw conclusions and relationships and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Effectively communicate actionable insights to category leads supporting their goals and objectives.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years relevant working experience.
  • Two or more years of experience using industry leading analytics tools such as Qlik, Alteryx, and Tableau.
  • Two or more years of experience programming in SQL, Python, R, and knowledge of relational databases.
  • Two or more years of experience with data warehousing technologies (e. g. Oracle, SAP, Teradata, MS SQL).

Even better if you have:

  • Master's degree in a technical discipline (e. g., computer science, computer engineering, statistics, operations research, industrial engineering, economics, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, industrial engineering).
  • Five or more years of experience in data modeling, programming, data mining, large scale data acquisition, transformation and cleaning of structured and unsecured data.
  • Knowledge of predictive modeling tools, machine learning tools (scikit-learn, PyTorch, Spark, TensorFlow, Keras, Theano etc.), and statistical data analysis such as linear models, multivariate analysis, stochastic models, sampling methods.
  • Optimization modeling (CPLEX, gurobi).
  • Knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem and NoSQL database technologies (MongoDB, Cassandra)
  • Flexibility to adapt to new challenges to overcome short-term hurdles by staying focused on the team’s deliverables.
  • Self-starter; ability to work in adynamicenvironment.
  • Capability to quickly learning and using widely available tools and methodologies.
  • Exceptional technical, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Investigative mind-set with an attention to detail.
