What you’ll be doing...

Note: This position is responsible for cells site support that includes a territory that spans Daytona Beach, FL and Palm Coast, FL and surrounding areas.

As a Cell Site Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, integration, performance, and overall maintenance of a number of locations within your territory.

  • Performing installation, testing, and optimization of base station equipment.
  • Integrating network hardware; Service Aggregation Routers, Fiber MUX, and/or microwave.
  • Analyzing and interpreting performance data and reports.
  • Conducting performance testing to analyze the network ensuring contiguous communication coverage, integrity, and quality. If gaps are discovered, making recommendations to improve coverage, and helping to implement those recommendations.
  • Performing preventive and corrective maintenance of all base stations and networking equipment, as well as performing antenna system optimization including PIM and VSWR testing.
  • Maintaining the location’s buildings, shelters, and grounds.
  • Maintaining site and test equipment inventories.
  • Maintaining daily logs with site-specific information, and updating supporting databases.
  • Composing clear and concise reports for system documentation.
  • Performing audits as required by local, regional, Area, Corporate or Regulatory agencies.
  • Supporting interdepartmental objectives for new projects.
  • Being part of an on-call rotation which may include working nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Perform duties independently, and participating in cross-functional projects as scheduled.

Note: Applicant should live within close proximity of Daytona Beach, FL and the Palm Coast, FL to effectively provide support to the territory.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or one or more years of work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs.
  • Ability to climb a ladder.
  • Technical work experience including:
  • Nokia, Ericsson, or Motorola LTE or CDMA.
  • Microwave Radio.
  • Telecom experience including Ethernet Backhaul, SONET, or Fiber Optic Networking (DWDM / CWDM).
  • Experience troubleshooting antenna systems from transmitter to antenna.
  • Experience in PIM/VSWR/MIMO/RET including knowledge of fiber and LTE remote radio heads.
  • Knowledge of computer networking protocols and services (LAN, WAN, routers, switches, TCP/IP, FTP, etc.).

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Self-motivation and excellent problem solving skills.
  • C-RAN and DAS experience.
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Intermediate training in at least three of the following areas: data comm, digital comm, operating systems and applications, teleco, computer support, project management, and/or power.
  • Eligibility to qualify for CMV (towing approximately 10,000 to 26,000 lbs.).
  • Capability of towing large trailer (COW, Emergency Generator).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
  • Willingness to travel.
