What you’ll be doing...

The Cyber Defense (CD) Professional Services Manager will be responsible for the achievement of business targets, on-going business/team management and longer term development of the assigned professional services security team. The focus is on Germany and the key areas of responsibility are:

Pre-sales support:

  • Work with the dedicated Verizon Business sales and account teams to provide CD practice SME expertise as and when required.
  • Support the PS sales team in the preparation of PS SOW, costing materials and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure that PS opportunities are properly registered within the relevant systems and that required business processes are followed.

Delivery Management:

  • Provide leadership to the assigned Project Managers to ensure that projects are initiated effectively and executed following agreed practice models using the standard project tracking tools.
  • Operate effective project governance procedures to ensure that all executed projects follow recognized project lifecycle up to project billing and closure.
  • Be accountable for the management of any project escalations.
  • Maintain in-practice knowledge pool to ensure that all PS product streams can be delivered effectively across the client portfolio.
  • Provide general support to the wider Verizon team in respect of project activity (financials, time booking, billing, etc).

Resource Management:

  • Maintain a clear understanding of on-going skills and resource demands to ensure that the delivery teams are aligned with business requirements.
  • On-board and off-board staff to ensure we have right level resources to meet customer demand.
  • Ensure all resources have up to date development plans including short-term and long-term goals, training plans etc.
  • Manage resource utilization to ensure optimal split between billable, presales, service development and training to exceed internal expectations including margin, sales growth and quality.
  • Be accountable for the maintenance of resource utilization plans to ensure adequate delivery resources are onboard to meet future customer demand.

Service Development:

  • Understand the wider security services competitive landscape.
  • Actively contribute to the wider PS product development activity working with Cyber Defense peers and the wider Verizon team where appropriate. The activity may include delivery of:
    • Customer communications plans.
    • Service definitions.
    • Standard commercial templates (SOW, pricing models).

Revenue and Funnel Management:

  • Maintain good understanding of current service funnel.
  • Analyze and understand funnel trends and develop and execute action plans to ensure consistent growth.
  • Maintain accurate records within the assigned business tools for management of PS opportunities.
  • Liaise with the wider Verizon business sales team to align forecasts with tactical and strategic account forecasts.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • AMaster’s degree in Information Security Management, Computer Science, or relevant discipline.
  • Prior experience managing people in an IT or Managed Security Services environment.
  • Prior experience in IT, Security, and Networking.
  • Prior experience in Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
  • ITIL Practitioner certified.
  • CISSP or CISM certified.
  • PRINCE2 certified.
  • TOGAF certified.
  • COBIT5 certified.
  • CCIE/CCDP/CCNP certified.
  • Strong skill in building and fostering relationships with other areas of the business (e.g., customers, client executives, other Verizon teams).
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • The ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer relationship management skills (including escalation management).
  • The ability to solve complex problem creatively.
  • The ability to drive process improvements and identify gaps.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • A valid driver's license.
