What you’ll be doing...

The Corporate Systems Group (CSG) General Ledger Operations Support team is responsible for providing a high level of support during accounting month-end close. The team participates in the completion of special projects that impacts processes and systems, including functional and technical CSG initiatives, and internal accounting projects. The team aims to build awareness and knowledge of digital disruptors by identifying and implementing new technologies into day-to-day operations relevant to finance in core technology areas.As an SAP Application Analyst, you will be responsible for general support of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and will report to the Senior Manager of General Ledger Operations Support. Primary responsibilities associated with the position include:

  • Providing SAP General Ledger systems support for all accounting and finance teams during and between accounting periods.
  • Providing SAP GL help desk support for end users, ensuring resolution of issues.
  • Drafting and distributing system update messaging (e.g., outages, events) to all levels of system users, up to and including senior executives.
  • Working closely with the Accounting as well as Controlling and Reporting teams during month-end close, opening and closing the Accounting Periods as required by the business.
  • Performing the Year-End Roll forward process for each SAP Ledger instance.
  • Participating in quarterly Security Audits, including annual SOX Controls testing.
  • Maintaining consistency and integrity of accounting data through maintenance of system support functions and controls documentation.
  • Working closely with the technical and development subject matter experts on system maintenance and enhancements.
  • Participating in the 1ERP conversion initiative to S/4HANA.
  • Assisting with ad hoc special projects and analysis.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with SAP Finance/Controlling application and tables.

Even Better if You Have:

  • A degree.
  • Bachelor's degree with concentration in MIS, IT, Accounting, or Finance and four or more years of equivalent work experience.
  • A Master's degree in MIS, IT, Business Administration, or Accounting/Finance.
  • Experience with financial systems, procedures and verification, and understanding of financial statements and concepts.
  • The ability to write and document processes with demonstrated ability to identify gaps, waste, and drive process improvements.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, including expert proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-based focus.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills, with attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • The ability to interact effectively with IT, various business functions, and various levels of management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience with ERP applications or processing financial data, including interface management experience and working knowledge of data warehousing, data transformation, or IT production support.
  • Comfort in using standard project management documentation techniques.
  • Experience in the technology or telecommunications industry preferred.
  • Willing to work overtime as needed while being available for off hour escalations.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
