The Finance Organization

Global Network & Technology FP&A Team

Move beyond compiling data and help tell the story behind the numbers. The Global Network & Technology Team position offer opportunities to drive better business partnering and insights, while growing your FP&A leadership and interpersonal skills. You are considered a business partner and your contributions will make a difference. You’ll become involved in, but not limited to, capital management and related system design and administration, investment analysis, business case development, monthly capital reporting and analysis.

  • Oversee Wireline capital investment budgeting, forecasting and administration to maximize Network performance and ROI.
  • Provide financial guidance to enable the deployment of platforms, technology solutions and processes that improve Verizon Network cost structure.
  • Consolidate and streamline capital financial processes, systems & governance.
  • Oversee Network governance and controls, striking the right balance between speed, agility and appropriate financial controls.
  • Develop and help implement Zero Based Budgeting & waste elimination models for the Network organization.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage financial systems to enable Digital Finance via processes automation.
  • Be a valued business partner to Network Engineering, Core and Assurance. Develop meaningful and actionable financial plans and reporting that provide proactive insights to help them achieve their financial targets, while maintaining Industry leading Network performance & reliability.
  • Contribute to the Verizon 1ERP initiative and be the SME for Wireline Network Capital requirements.
  • Present and communicate to all levels of the business.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel when needed

Even better if you have:

  • A professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA).
  • A Master's in Business Administration
  • Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry.
  • Demonstrated in depth understanding of common business and cost drivers, financial statement analysis, and deep-dive analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management.
  • An advanced understanding of corporate financial planning, reporting & analysis, and costing/profitability methodologies and processes.
  • A high degree of analytical capability with the demonstrated ability to structure business case around a high-level strategic vision.
  • Strong strategic skills, with the proven ability to identify and assess key points, implications and recommendations.
  • Proficiency with Peoplesoft or SAP
  • Expert with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience Managing and leading people
