What you’ll be doing...

As part of the Device Marketing Portfolio and Realization team you will own and manage the device life cycle for devices launched in the Verizon retail channels. This includes device definition and feature lock-down for our lineup of devices, including Smartphones, Tablets and other connected products.

You’ll be partnering with device manufacturers continually assessing new technologies that come into their products. Through planning, organization, validation, and execution, this position will be responsible for blending the company’s vision, the voice of the customer, and cross-functional team members with the latest and greatest industry trends to deliver and expand our product.

As an OEM lead you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the OEM interface for the device and guide OEM to deliver on VZW device roadmap by supporting execution from Prodesign, planning, to device certification, launch and post launch activities.
  • Interfacing with multiple internal Verizon organizations and external vendors that are needed to realize the product. (Chipset, applications etc.).
  • Management of device roadmap for the OEM/s, including understanding risks, planning risk mitigations to meet time to market of new devices and software updates and upgrades (SU) for existing devices.
  • Understanding device requirements, attending reviews, and contributing from OEM perspective during device requirement reviews.
  • Managing and delivering on device compliance (FLD’s) and following internal processes, quality checkpoints, designed to help meet device certification and time to market.
  • Identifying and understanding issues and providing quick responses to customer issues from field, executives or from forums.
  • Monitoring device performance and work with internal teams on device returns and warranty.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Six or more years of experience in wireless/telecommunication industry with knowledge of wireless devices.
  • Experience in product ownership/management leading to product launches.
  • Experience partnering with teams across the organization and influencing to achieve business results across multiple teams who may have different goals.
  • Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, schedule tradeoffs and champion opportunistic new ideas with technical and non-technical employees.
  • Experience in vendor management by nurturing relationships and understanding OEM partner’s needs and providing them opportunities to fulfill them while maintaining company goals.
  • Knowledge of Smartphone and Tablet HW subsystems such as: LTE, display, camera, memory, chipset, sensors, battery, color/material/finish (CMF).
