What you’ll be doing...

This position is being created to project manage complex intermediate and operational efficiencies for the Fraud team. This could include but is not limited to resources management, time and budget estimates for all project phases and milestones for internal and external parties. Responsibilities include satisfying customer expectations on product quality, functionality and timely delivery and support of business case creation, reporting and communication of Fraud projects within the company.

As a Consultant Project Manager you’ll be taking your great ideas and turning them into reality by planning and executing initiatives. You will leverage your familiarity with Verizon Agile and Project Management processes and partner with IT, the business and external partners to continually evolve security and prevention.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams and business leaders nationally to support design/execution of system enhancements that involve the prevention, detection and customer experience.
  • Project Management interface between the business, GTS, and other Business Transformation offices.
  • Identify project resource needs and staffing process including subject matter/part-time resources.
  • Support compilation of schedule, status, and metric updates at project and team levels; report appropriately to all levels of governance including executive.
  • Support business case creation, metric analysis and document the realization of projects and effects of systems enhancements and process changes.
  • Communicate project results by developing presentations and communications of trends and gaps in the context of project impact.
  • Be flexible and work within IT deadlines to deliver initiatives and track results.
  • Lead evaluation of go/no-go criteria for technical release and business cutover.
  • Leverage strong business acumen, presentation and communication skills to create and present information in a relevant, consumable, meaningful, and insightful ways.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in technical project oversight, including portfolio or program management.
  • Willingness to travel 25% or less of the time.

Even better if you have:

  • Master degree in Computer Science/Information Systems Business, Finance, Project Management, or related discipline.
  • Experience in event planning, organizing, managing and execution of large projects.
  • One or more years of experience working with PPM tools; Jira or Clarity.
  • Knowledge of agile project management concepts.
  • Understanding of consumer telecom business practices, including accounting, finance, revenue assurance, taxation, billing, customer care, legal, device management and network operations.
  • Query Skills (SQL).
  • Formal training and/or certifications in project management methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma Methodologies, PMP Certifications, etc.).
  • Experience implementing cutting edge Digital technologies and scaling towards enterprise standards, such as:
    • Natural Language Generation (NLG).
    • Natural Language Processing (NLP).
    • Visual / Mobile ERP.
    • Predictive Analysis.
    • Block chain.
    • Crowd source queries.
