What you’ll be doing...

Information technology sits at the heart of everything we do. That’s where you come in. You’ll join a dynamic production support team focusing on the applications used by our business to business (B2B) wireless team. Your role will involve working with the application batch job process, streamlining it wherever possible. Your work will ensure your colleagues have the applications they need to effectively support our business wireless customers in the most efficient way possible.

More specifically, you will be expected to

  • Work on installation, configuration, and day-to-day tasks associated with ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of application run time environment.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of moderately complex software applications and solve complex problems utilizing industry standard tools.
  • Work with the development staff to determine operational requirements for test/production environments.
  • Work on configuration, deployment, and operational support of production/dr/staging environments for multiple applications.
  • Keep current with emerging software enhancements, security patches and bug fixes.
  • monitor application server performance and respond appropriately
  • monitor systems capacity and performance through APM tools,
  • Plan and execute disaster recovery procedures, and provide Tier 2 technical support.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in one or more log monitoring tool (Splunk, ELK, etc), and one or more APM tool (CA-APM, AppDynamics, New Relic, Catchpoint)
  • Experience in Production support for Web-based applications.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Excellent analytical skills, resiliency mindset, and attention to detail (production environment), excellent collaboration and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Flexibility in hours of work because of the mission critical nature of the apps being supported.
  • Lead experience.
  • Strong experience with working on either UNIX or Windows OS servers
  • Good working knowledge of WebLogic, MQ, Java, Jenkins, Shell-scripting, JIRA, Confluence
