What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is investing in its network to improve the way we live, work, and communicate. Our network transformation will be critical for all our future connectivity business endeavors including new products such as One Fiber, 5G, and future smart cities. At the forefront of this effort is the Network Operations team and their support staff. As a member of this team and a leader of this network transformation, you will help build one network engineered for growth for all lines of business.You will perform productivity assessments, and proactively evaluate, analyze, and recommend solutions to provide a differentiated service experience to our customers. You will also provide transformation leadership in support of organizational strategies and good practices to create efficiencies within the business that scale to support growth.

  • Leading a team of Technicians and coordinating the management of major network outages and associated communications.
  • Investigating root cause analysis and providing remediation options for outages.
  • Generating reports to identify systemic issues.
  • Monitoring internal metrics to ensure optimal performance levels are achieved.
  • Assisting with Business Continuity and Emergency Management planning.
  • Providing guidance to team through ongoing performance management.

What we’re looking for...

Communicating complex details in a way that people can understand comes naturally to you. You enjoy collaborating with people at all levels in the organization and are very good at making sure all stakeholders are in the loop. You enjoy leading and developing a team to make a big impact in a large, fast paced environment.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to be on-call after hours and on weekends as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Leadership experience in a 24x7 Network Operations Center.
  • Experience with next generation transmission / ODN technologies and outside plant (OSP) construction and permitting practices
  • Managed a high performing team.
  • Experience managing remote teams
  • Experience with leading, coaching and providing direction to subordinates, including motivating and developing technicians
  • Worked with multifunctional teams.
  • Managed complex processes.
