What you’ll be doing...

This position is to join the GTS Governance and Transformation organization to drive efficiencies, speed and innovation. This role will be important for optimizing Verizon’s technology assets to ensure maximum utilization of infrastructure and technology resources. Additionally, maximize our investments in hardware and software by providing governance and oversight as well as identify major savings opportunities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review the technical direction of hardware and software purchases, assess financials and compliance with the company’s strategic direction to ensure the solution is both technologically and financially optimal. Additionally provide recommendations on alternate solutions.
  • Oversee the acquisition of all GTS hardware and software infrastructure programs to drive synergies transforming Verizon's infrastructure to a more efficient model. Continually assess the processes to ensure proper governance, while providing agility to support critical and innovative project delivery.
  • Position will be important in working cross-organization initiatives for GTS to meet its$100M+ savings goal. They will be expected to analyze GTS’s purchasing plans across vendors, programs, and stakeholders, to identify savings opportunities, and bring them to the attention to management.

What we’re looking for...

This position will be dealing with a diverse range of technologies, projects and stakeholders.The individual in this position should have some experience in multiple areas (data center infrastructure, network infrastructure, software, end user devices). You will need to use their technical experience and knowledge based to determine the best path forward. This position will be expected to handle cross-departmental and technically diverse projects in the organization.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience as a Business Analysis and/or Technical Requirements.
  • Strong oral, writing and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate across multiple audiences, including executive level presentations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and a familiarity with Google Suite.

  • A degree.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience managing stakeholder, including the ability to influence decisions.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem solving skills to resolve complex issues. Ability to analyze situations and develop alternative approaches to address issues; recommend solutions.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to handle competing priorities.
  • Ability to work with general supervision.
  • Ability to be a strong team player and detailed oriented, resourceful, motivated and creative.
  • Ability to provide timely and accurate status updates on deliverables.
