What you’ll be doing...

You’ll be a key resource ensuring that projects are delivered on time and on budget. You’ll manage all aspects of a project from finding the best vendors to putting plans in place, tracking progress, through to delivery of a quality solution. You’ll partner with other areas of the business, like procurement and sourcing, to be sure that all resources are ready when needed. We’re looking for your project and financial management expertise so that we can deliver the best outcomes for the business and in turn, to our customers.

  • Managing all aspects of several projects and tracking key outcomes, including financials.
  • Partnering with others both inside and outside to ensure successful completion of projects.

  • Reporting progress and outcomes in various functions and levels.

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES – Operations EPMO Manager

A PS Operations EPMO analyst is chartered to support the growth and the development of the Professional Services Business by participating in transformation projects, analyzing financial models and results, and building collateral to present the PS results and strategy. The goal of this centralized hub is to provide company-wide guidance, governance, standardized processes, and project management best practices, tools and techniques. Direct support of PS Project Managers, Delivery Managers and Executives. Building central competencies, methods, processes in alignment with Professional Services strategy.

Strategic oversight and governance over the EPMO resides at the manager level with support from the Executives since all the roles within the EPMO serve to support the entire PS organization and its strategies. Communication, reporting, collaboration, use of technology, compliance and all other activities within the EPMO are aimed to serve Professional Services and its operational needs. Governance pertaining to each project, program and portfolio should be aimed at meeting company-wide opportunities and addressing operational issues and barriers. Executives and the EPMO should work seamlessly and in tandem to this end in order to move forward on all issues and opportunities when it comes to all initiatives and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of all EPMO initiatives, deliverables and compliance
  • Set ground rules and expectations for the project teams
  • Formalize a common language for project managers, functional leaders and other stakeholders that smooths communication and ensures expectations are fully understood
  • Set appropriate levels of visibility and increase accountability across the PS organization.
  • Provide a governance structure that ensures accountability and enables predictable outcomes of each initiative.
  • Champion business transformation
  • Increase agility when adapting to other initiatives or changes within the PS organization
  • Support resource and capacity planning in country
  • Establish and maintain key competencies and skills, and set standards
  • Determine and communicate key performance indicators for measuring project performance
  • Create buy-in throughout the business
  • Ensuring a safe and ethical work environment by complying with the Code of Conduct and all Company policy

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Project management experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or IT.
  • Finance experience.
  • Presentation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Made presentations to all levels of management across the organization.
  • Formulated and implemented strategies within defined time frames.

Required

  • Relevant demonstrable work experience
  • Demonstrated effective presentation and communications skills to accurately represent and convey information both in verbal and written form to multiple levels of an organization
  • Ability to manage competing and conflicting priorities
  • Experience working in dynamic and fast-paced environments
  • Excellent computer skills necessary in Word, Excel, Presentation, Project and Visio.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%
  • Highly motivated as there will be a level of working on own initiative.
  • Desire for continued technical growth
  • Advanced knowledge of Verizon’s internal processes relative to the project lifecycle
