Your role is critical in ensuring our sales colleagues are appropriately compensated for their outstanding performance. Commission payments are one of the many ways that we reward our salespeople for their success. You’ll be ensuring that we comply with contractual agreements and sales compensation plans by accurately analyzing and processing payments and statements within established timeframes. Interfacing with multiple functions, you’ll implement procedures and controls and maintain our supporting systems. Having a focus on streamlining our processes, using technology to be more efficient and accurate, will help us to be even better — because here, better matters.

  • Provide process leadership to the Commissions team in the delivery of world-class Commissions services, oftentimes contributing as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Act as a Project Manager, leading teams of peers in a matrix organization to a successful completion of projects impacting the Commissions Team, including system conversions and strategic compensation changes.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of systems and interdependencies of processes to drive the business toward the development of systems that enable process improvement.
  • Engage and influence key executive-level stakeholders to improve complex Commissions processes, perform effective escalation management, and develop and implement “quick fix” solutions.
  • Identify any improvement opportunities in this area, and pioneer the design and implementation of new processes and procedures.
  • Exhibit thorough understanding of process analysis, problem solving, decision making, and execution.
  • Develop and grow partnerships with stakeholders and other functional teams relating to objectives, deliverables, resource allocation and related matters.
  • Serve as the critical point of contact for compensation changes for other departments (e.g., indirect sales, finance, sales operations, compliance, etc.) Collaborate with business partners who design compensation strategy to meet business objectives. Present compensation strategy to senior management. Provide expert knowledge of incentive management, financial, accounting, and additional support systems.
  • Ensure that incoming and outgoing transaction processes are controlled, effective and efficient in order to ensure there are no integrity issues. Orchestrate innovative ways to manage our complex set of transactions through the commission system. Make system/ processes more efficient and scalable, and work to ensure the highest level of quality of our operations and minimize operational risk.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Query tool experience (e.g., SQL/Cognos).

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance,Business Administration or related discipline.
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting, or Finance.
  • Professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA).
  • Experience in compensation related field.
  • Experience in the technology or telecommunications industry.
  • Experience with Verizon Compensation system, Billing, and Order Entry systems.
  • Experience with Google Suite.
  • Experience with Tableau.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal), maintainworking relationships with various clients, and lead/drive operational initiatives.
  • High standard of personal performance, independent thinker, works effectively in dynamic, fast-moving, constantly changing environment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, leadership and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated skills for business success, including project management, problem-solving, and the ability to diagnose and meet business demands.
  • Enthusiasm and eagerness to learn.
  • Ability of being a independent Contributor.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite of Products (especially in Excel, Access & Powerpoint).
  • A broad range of skills within finance discipline to effectively perform routine to complex assignments.
  • Knowledge of principles, theories, concepts and technologies as well as applied knowledge of established procedures, policies and practices.
  • Success in improving quality, increasing productivity and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Ability to provide leadership in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment, and to drive complex operational initiatives.
