What you’ll be doing...

Join the Verizon Cloud Design and Integration team and help build a high-performance carrier grade cloud! You will provide technical leadership within our integration and automation team and work with major Verizon business units (VES, Wire line and Wireless) to on-board business service applications as well as to migrate network infrastructure to Verizon Could Platform (VCP). You will be working closely with design team, transport team, tenant OPS and vendors to develop Layer2/Layer 3 connectivity between the tenant space and the major business networks (WSN, EDN, IDN, A701, etc.) within Verizon. You will also work with tenant OPS and vendors to provide integration support during the initial tenant deployment. Working under a DevOps environment, your job function will tightly couple the design and integration process with field operations and own the responsibility for identifying ways to streamline and automate the design and integration process.

  • Work with Cross-functional teams to create network design to deploy and integrate services and VNFs into 4G/5G networks.
  • Develop reliable and adaptive VCP network connectivity with clear understanding of overall network architecture and long term evolution path.
  • Resolve architectural network connectivity issues by identifying creative and practical solutions.
  • Provide integration support to Verizon business units during initial app deployment on VCP.
  • Conduct lab testing to validate Openstack features and gain feasibility and performance insights.
  • Closely engage with the Openstack community. Adopt Openstack community best practices for building high-performance carrier grade cloud.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Datacenter virtualization technologies (servers, networks and software stacks), monitoring tools and processes.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’sdegree in engineering, computer science engineering, business or related discipline.
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry.
  • OpenStack CLI commands and administration Linux/Unix scripting, especially for TCP/IP stack, Firewalls DNS and VPNs.
  • Configuration management tools experience including Puppet, Chef, or Ansible, and Jenkins.
  • Network device configuration experience in Juniper and Cisco, with NetConf network configuration protocol and YANG data model.
  • CLI configuration experience of Cisco, HP, or Juniper switches and routers, Palo Alto firewalls, and f5 load balancers.
  • LTE, IMS, and MPN experience.
  • Virtual and Physical Network Functions experience.
  • Software Defined Networking principals and system experience.
  • Wireline network and service experience including Private and Public IP network services, Switched Ethernet Services, Managed network services using Viptella and Versa.
  • Python, Java scripts, SOAP, Ruby, and PHP programming experience.
  • API development experience based on JSON and XML.
  • Server provisioning experience using cloud-Init and cloud configuration.
  • TOSCA and YAML experience.
  • HOT Template and OVF based VNF descriptors experience.
