What you’ll be doing...

The position of Project Manager in Network Transformation will be responsible for the communication efforts for the Network transformation Product Retirement and coordinating the Federal Government communications across the various Network Transformation programs.

  • Responsibility includes reviewing and analyzing up to 50k DS0 circuits to see if they meet criteria to communicate to customers, coordinate FCC & PUC filing schedule, coordinate filing and withdrawal schedules to our Enterprise (VGE), Government, and Federal Government customers.
  • Lead communication efforts for all product retirement requirements across 878 Wire centers and 6 LOBs for 100+ services.
  • Understand FCC / PUC tariff language/requirements.
  • Coordinate and plan launches to align with FCC and PUC filing schedule, and other communication schedules (OFS/MxU, VPS) to ensure a cohesive outreach to our Enterprise (VGE), Government and Federal Government customers.
  • Coach communication managers (Band 7s) on product withdrawal process and information to ensure appropriate wave creation.
  • Examination of all outgoing waves for product retirement – expect 40+ waves per year ranging in volume from 4,000 circuits to 50,000 circuits.
  • Drive synergies across vendor platforms, IT, and the overall NT team.
  • Coordinate with center and business leads to identify and resolve knowledge gaps.
  • Responsible for Sales/Service notification and follow up inquiries for up to 500 sales reps across VGE, VBM Large / SLED segments for product retirement
  • Work with Legal operations as appropriate to gain approval for necessary updates to support the NT Program.
  • Work with IT to drive data integrity across systems. Identify issues and resolution for Data Integrity Issues that will impact Communications. Initiate Work Requests to drive data integrity and simplify internal process.
  • Lead SWAT team in the implementation and execution of strategies and programs targeted to improve the customer experience and simplify Verizon’s wireline service delivery specific to the Federal Government accounts for all services.
  • Act as NT SPOC for entire Fed Gov team inquiries.
  • Research and review Existing Fed Contracts (WITs, Networks, Tippin, Local Svc Agreements, etc). Review timelines & contract language (e.g. substitution policy ,etc).
  • Review circuits with Fed account teams to identify product retirement opportunities, special services (DS0s) that are non-contractual/tariff, and all copper services required to move to the fiber network.
  • Attend Fed Staff meetings (Sales, Service, to present NT program status and upcoming actions/next steps to Fed Gov Leadership).
  • Partner with sales / service teams through scheduled meetings to review circuit inventory and assist with customer solutions, upsell opportunity and service actions.
  • Ensure that all future contracts (EIS, etc) do not include Grandfathered services and have appropriate substitution language to allow for withdrawals (specifically for switch impacting services).
  • Engage Fed Gov Sales and Legal to determine appropriate actions and execution of contract, withdrawal of contracts, etc.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree or Master’s degree.
  • Three or more years of multidiscipline/line and staff management and leadership experience.
  • Three or more years of experience working with our Enterprise and SLED Customers.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of Verizon products, regulations, and associated tools / databases.
  • Strong knowledge of NSOP, VECRM, VRepair, WFM, CABS, TIRKS.
  • Knowledge of FCc/PUC tariff language/requirements.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross functional team.
  • Strong decision-making and problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with Office suite especially Excel, GSuite and MS Project Skills.
