What you’ll be doing...

The Retail Supply Chain Reverse Planning Team is responsible for planning the flow of returned devices via Trade-in, Annual Upgrade, CLNR (Certified Like New Replacement) and Customer Guarantee Programs through the Centralized Returns & Testing Center (CRTC) to satisfy the demand of various outflow programs like Wholesale and CLNR to maximize revenue and profit margins while minimizing working capital. Reverse operations generate significant revenue for Verizon by processing 15+ million devices annually.

The Reverse Planning Team is looking for a Manager of Inventory Planning, who will be responsible for developing a forecasting framework for the entire reverse planning. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Aggregate Planning, you will own all aspects of Devices Aggregate Planning in the Wireless Supply Chain Reverse domain. You will work cross functionally with Monetization, Device Quality & Repair, Device Marketing, and Finance to develop aggregate forecasts at program, model and SKU levels. In this role, you will also be responsible for the tactical implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at collaboration, automation and optimization of the aggregate forecasts. While managing day to day planning activities is imperative, in order to be successful, you should be a strategic thinker who can lead large scale transformational projects.

  • Designing and implementing a forecasting framework for reverse planning. Measuring, analyzing and reporting key performance indicators associated with forecasting including forecast accuracy, bias etc.
  • Collaborating with the Inventory Management team to ensure supply plans are in agreement with device demand plans.
  • Overseeing and achieving migration of historical data sources to SAP ERP for forecasting.
  • Working with Supply Chain Finance to understand and incorporate the impact of Reverse Valuation projects; e.g., repair capitalization, unit-based costing etc.
  • Providing process design guidance and subject matter expertise for strategic initiatives and coordinating activities to ensure timely completions of initiatives, including OnePlanning, 5G etc.
  • Preparing and publishing metrics at operational and executive levels for different audiences, including supply chain and finance.
  • Leading the design of enhanced reporting and data exploration capabilities, and automation efforts for aggregate planning activities. Partnering with IT and Analytics teams to implement solutions.
  • Developing and delivering executive level presentations for monthly readouts and strategic initiative updates.
  • Proactively engaging stakeholders to ensure current and future needs are met.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in forecasting, demand and/or supply planning.
  • Knowledge of SAP inventory management, Planning tools like SAP IBP, MRP and/or JIT.
  • Knowledge of ERP and planning systems including SAP, PeopleSoft, JDA and/or Logility.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field including Engineering or Supply Chain.
  • Reverse supply chain knowledge and experience.
  • Leadership abilities with the capability to engage and influence collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.
  • Experience with data extraction and visualization (SQL, Qlik, Tableau, etc.).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Utilized advanced functions within Excel and PowerPoint to illustrate and articulate results.
  • Capability to engage and influence collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of data processing and manipulation by SQL, Alteryx, Python, R, etc.
