What you’ll be doing...

The Senior Manager, Business Operations role will be part of the Strategic Sourcing team responsible for developing, designing, and implementing Strategic Sourcing projects, initiatives and process improvements both domestically and internationally. The Senior Manager will lead a team of four or more direct reports, lead the creation of project plans and deployment of critical projects within the Strategic Sourcing Organization, lead Cross Functional Teams (CFT), track performance, results and manage operational reviews with senior leadership. In this role, you will be responsible for actively managing multiple time-sensitive, highly visible and complex projects simultaneously; proactively solving issues, conducting assessments, making recommendations, initiating improvements, and managing relationships and expectations of a large set of internal stakeholders across different organizations.

  • Developing, managing and presenting project-based updates, strategic sourcing updates and reviews, executive briefings, and operational reviews to senior leadership.
  • Representing Strategic Sourcing on multiple CFTs with the focus on developing and/or improving system and business process efficiencies and effectiveness. This includes championing, developing, managing, driving, and influencing key relationships with stakeholders that are critical to the success of the Global Supply Chain organization.
  • Facilitating discovery sessions with project stakeholders to outline scope, goals, deliverables, resource needs and timelines, and then turning the data gathered into functional requirements.
  • Driving key projects, define and manage project scope and timeline, facilitate and lead change management processes to drive effective project execution.
  • Budgeting, including strategizing on cost management with our leadership team.
  • Leading the documentation of business requirements detailing the organizational capabilities, business transformation changes, and functionality of enterprise toolsets to support desired solution.
  • Maintaining and updating the Strategic Sourcing Playbook/website with current documentation of policies, procedures, Business Process Guidelines and work instructions, and creating, updating and implementing Sourcing Policies (domestic and international), Process Guidelines and Playbook in VZ Web.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining a formal training program for new hires within the Sourcing organization.
  • Managing and directing the VDSI Sourcing Support team, including strategizing on responsibilities to increase efficiencies in Sourcing support processes.
  • Strategizing on Sourcing approach to regulatory compliance.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, HR, Supply Chain or Procurement or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, including creating executive level presentations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel including creating and utilizing Pivot tables.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Project management experience.
  • Eight or more years of knowledge of Sourcing or Supply Chain functions; Business Operations and Intelligence.
  • Capability to prioritize projects, establish realistic timelines/milestones and achieve results.
  • Strong analytical and effective problem-solving skills to identify improvement opportunities, evaluate options, and develop solutions.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills including the capability to interact effectively with all levels of management.
  • Organizational agility.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Capability to be well organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects.
