What you’ll be doing...

We are looking to hire a Global Resource Manager to join the IT Managed Services Governance Team. This team manages the overall relationship with several IT providers and facilitates the use of 3rd party labor in conjunction with Verizon's full time IT workforce. Verizon is looking to establish a supply/demand model to understand and predict the need to use 3rd party labor. The candidate in this role will be responsible to ensure that Verizon leverages 3rd party labor properly and gets the expected business value from these relationships.

  • Provide inputs and thought leadership re: vendor governance program
    • Define and create reporting on usage of global workforce (metrics, adherence to guidelines)
    • Provide guidance and direction on staffing guidelines (e.g. Domestic US / Offshore mix; Employee / contractor mix)
    • Leverage learning across engagement.
    • Identify best practices.
  • Verizon IT stakeholder Management
    • Work with internal Verizon IT team to understand their needs as it relates to vendor.
    • Mitigate risks/issues raised by Verizon IT team through effective vendor management.
    • Track key KPIs (delivery, financial, innovation, etc.) of vendor for Verizon IT team and share results.
    • Assist Verizon IT team with ongoing vendor governance activities (e.g. Demand Management, Performance Management, Financial Management, etc.).
  • Additional Stakeholder Management
    • Work with Verizon stakeholders (HR, Finance, Sourcing, Security, Legal, etc.) and ensure vendor compliance with their needs.
    • Provide periodic updates to various stakeholders.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in handling Resource Management operations involving Resource/Workforce Planning, Resource Deployment, Resource Utilization, Rotation / Skills up-gradation of the workforce to match program / project demands.
  • Experienceinvolved in Skills Management process to understand the Organization skill base.
  • Extensivein Program / Project Resource Management setup

Even better if you have:

  • Assertive conflict-resolution and problem - solving skills
  • Knowledge of key contract areas for IT managed services (KPIs, Demand Management, Financial Management, etc.)
  • Strong relationship management skills with both internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Involved in Proactive planning of bringing down the demand-supply gap.
  • Ability to identify and manage risks and issues.
  • Clear and concise communication in both written and verbal form
  • Knowledge of operational and financial performance measures.
  • Highly detail oriented, resource management, Program management experience, Dealing with Complexity, Analyzing Information , Reporting.
  • Look into the employee training needs / Skill up-grade needs as per Program requirements.
  • Certifications (Preferred) : PMP
