What you’ll be doing...

Overall, the IoT Product Technical Documentation team is responsible for providing support and content for our APIs and products. This position will be responsible for working closely with the product team to empathize with our users and provide them with support documentation on our portal. Because technology is always evolving, the technical manager will need to be forward-thinking and a leader in best practices, communication, team work and collaboration. The right candidate must be a highly motivated, self-starter who is equally as passionate about creating and supporting excellent products as they are about caring for our users and their overall experience.

Responsible for strategic product charters, customer facing roles & interaction, the ability to create and drive strategic concepts from ideation to implementation for products by working with various organizational leaders from the Sr. Manager to the Executive Director level requiring a keen understanding of Product Strategy, Customer Experience, Marketing, Product and Development / Engineering.

Must understand the industry, engineering, development and product space to be successful at this role as it requires the ability to work with multiple organizations and drive buy In, adoption of strategy, secure funding and manage the effort through completion with low touch support from direct management team.

Must be able to clearly write technical documentation and will be required to test and develop with our APIs before we publicly launch solutions.

This role will also be required to coach, hire and train consultants, developers and field sales due to the knowledge across multiple products and platforms required.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and drive strategic concepts from ideation to implementation for products by working with various organizational leaders from the Sr. Manager to the Executive Director level requiring a keen understanding of Product Strategy, Customer Experience, Marketing, Product and Development / Engineering.
  • Use industry, engineering, development and product knowledge to drive buy-in, adoption of strategy, and secure funding while managing the effort with low touch from direct management team.
  • Coach, hire and train consultants, developers and field sales due to the knowledge across multiple products and platforms required.
  • Provide strategy, concepts and execution on IoT product creation, deployment, lifecycle and manage the experience with product owners and customers.
  • Understand customer needs and successfully create strategies and concepts to develop and implement across all enterprise channels.
  • Coordinate updates with IoT product team (launch, external communications and marketing materials).
  • Manage and delegate ThingSpace support content, design, and information architecture to development teams.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Ability to test and troubleshoot APIs.
  • Knowledge of design, development and prototyping tools (InVision, Adobe AEM, XML, Markdown, JSON, etc.), JIRA and Clarity.
  • Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, software development and product marketing methodologies.
  • Strong technical experience and ability to understand and communicate technical documentation knowledge, tools and skills.
  • In order to support our products, this position must understand all aspects of them, as well as our users, so we can properly support user needs. They will need to understand the user, and how they will use our products to support their business needs.
  • Ability to be professional and interact/communicate with working level teams independently in a matrix organizational environment.
  • Ability to work with a variety team disciplines in development, marketing, product and IT along with consultants and enterprise customers In many different segments of business.
  • Interact with Sr. Managers and Directors while working to influence strategy, budget and priorities.
