What you’ll be doing...

We’re investing in our network to improve the way we live, work, and communicate. Our network infrastructure will be critical for all our future network transformation objectives including new products such as IoT, 5G, and future smart cities. As an Engineering Project Manager/Scheduler, you will manage the OSP components of build, test, and turn-up of all engineering work orders (Hicap, FTTP, FTTC, Small Cell, Obligatory etc.).

  • You will be managing all aspects of EPM Scheduling in the DC/NORVA area. You will be responsible for scheduling all Engineering designs and project managing them to completion.
  • Driving complex projects and programs to achieve targeted and measured business goals and key objectives.
  • Project managing all engineering work orders from the point the work order is authorized, base lined, and released to construction through completion.
  • Interfacing with the Local Construction Managers, Area Managers, Directors, Customers, Local Contacts, Sales Contacts, OCO (OCEC), CPC, as well as Engineering Planners, Coordinators, Supervisors, and Engineering Associates.
  • Developing and implementing corrective action plans to mitigate impact to project schedules and overall business objectives.
  • Maintaining excellent communication with functional team members, direct management, and external customers to ensure early identification of issues a timely reporting of status.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant outside plant work experience.
  • Strong Background in Outside Plant Construction to include but not limited to Cable Placing, Splicing, and Contract Services work functions.
  • Ability to review and understand an Engineering Work Order (EWO) related to FTTP, FTTC, HiCap, and other Core programs.
  • Experience in systems to include: Vbuild, CoFEE, MS Projects, BDMS, IVAPP, TIRKS, WFAC.
  • MS Office Proficiency in Word, Excel, MS Projects.
  • Technical or project management experience.
  • Knowledge of PC and software applications including Windows and MS Office.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Project Management experience across multiple work groups and turfs.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills for inter-organizational and external customer communications.
  • Strong organization skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple, often conflicting priorities to successful completion.
  • Experience with making independent decisions based on policies, practices and project requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
