What you’ll be doing...

You will be supporting the myInfo application the enterprise performance and employee management system for Verizon. While myInfo supports the enterprise performance and talent processes, the foundational role of the myInfo application is as a cross channel operations system with over 20 modules of rich functionality that acts as a hub supporting frontline employees and management for employee coaching, performance management, development, communications, survey review, and schedule management. Your role will be a technical lead role counted on for performing in-depth analysis, design and advanced development towards our most complex application deliverables. In addition to your specific individual contributions to development initiatives, management and your onshore/ offshore peers rely on the MTS IV role to support the team in mentorship and technical coaching through code reviews, and roadblock assistance.

You will serve as an application SME that works with business stakeholders and cross IT partners to assist in identifying how existing application functionality can be leveraged or enhanced to meet business needs. You will lead onshore/offshore teams in technical execution of medium to highly complex deliverables. In addition to development delivery, the role is a SME for higher tier application production support. You will proactively communicate status reports and issues to management. Your role will be critical to the myinfo focus on deployment and ongoing support of the SPC hosted locations, VCM, Network and VBG as well as several other key business initiatives.

  • Development and Support.
  • Provide regular project updates to Information Analysts and management as needed.
  • Communicate issues, risks, and concerns proactively to management.
  • Document processes thoroughly to allow peers to assist with support as needed.
  • Development of complex critical components of project delivery.
  • Lead sprint execution including; user story estimation, story assignment, reporting, code merging and release planning.
  • Technical mentoring and coaching of development peers, code reviews and corrections.
  • Partner with stakeholders cross as needed IT partners on approach, design and implementations.
  • Provide production support for myInfo tools.
  • Provide regular project updates to Information Analysts and management as needed.
  • Communicate issues, risks, and concerns proactively to management.
  • Document processes thoroughly to allow peers to assist with support as needed.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in agile development delivery.
  • Experience with Microsoft Stack (MSSQL, C#).

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related IT field or equivalent work experience.
  • Six or more years of experience in service based web application development.
  • Experience in working with data automation across multiple environments (ETL).
  • SSIS Advanced component experience (transformation objects in data flow).
  • Experience in open source DBs (ex: Postgresql, mySQL, Cassandra).
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services, implementation and integration.
  • Micro service based architectures, and Verizon’s CI/CD tools, familiarity with open stack technologies including postgres.
  • Ability simultaneously manage multiple projects and communication streams throughout the day.
  • Willingness to travel on occasion if needed.
