What you’ll be doing...

Reporting to the Sales VP for AsiaEnterprises , this position will be responsible for the development and implementation of a sales plan in line with Verizon corporate objectives. The focus will be placed on acquisition and retention of customers which will maximize revenue growth, minimize cost and create a profitable and sustainable business and will subsequently shift Verizon further into the ICT area.

As theLeaderof Sales, you will also be expected to provide strong leadership to the Japan sales team and demonstrate exemplary leadership behaviors of a senior executive for the entire Japanese branch. You will be responsible and accountable for executing the Verizon Business sales strategy and ensure a focus on higher value, margin deals with larger contract values and long-term relationships. You will also take responsibility for positioning Verizon as an added value service provider to Japanese multinational corporate and enterprise customers, with a focus on vertical market strategy, whilst ensuring that all targets are achieved or exceeded. The Japan territory is responsible for direct, in-region yearly revenues and presents an immense opportunity for growth supporting the global expansion of Japan multinational clients (MNC). As the Sales Leaderfor Japan, you will be the branch leader will set the tone for the branch culture and strategy; you will also be “face of Verizon” in Japan, interacting with the media, industry leaders and government officials.

Other specific responsibilities and challenges include:

  • Ensure that all sales targets are consistently met and that the Sales members are accountable for profitable sales.
  • Ensure the correctly positioning of the Sales team structure to meet Sales objectives and revise if necessary.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership in managing the Japan operations.
  • Execute on the Japan strategy including interlocks with other functions, accounts and target assignment, achievement of targets.
  • Collaborate with the technical sales teams to ensure delivery of presales, consulting, and technical specialists’ activity. Drive technical consultants and ensure constant updates of technical knowledge linked with both the product portfolio and the wider evolution of technologies.
  • Drive ICT sales to multinational corporate customers, with a focus on expanding coverage of large Japanese MNCs.
  • Endeavour to continually improve revenue realization percentage.
  • Effectively communicate all key messages to the sales force ensuring that a high level of motivation is driven and maintained. Ensure appropriate usage of the commission and incentive program in order to drive and motivate individuals and teams.
  • Work effectively with other areas of the business, build key relationships outside of the Sales organization and champion cross-functional initiatives in order to improve end-to-end processes.
  • Proactively identify marketing needs and ensure that the sales force is well prepared for product launches and campaigns in collaboration with the Marketing team.
  • Ensure that the Sales team utilize corporate tools in order to enable accurate and up-to-date reporting.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Tenor more years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to lead, coach,motivate, and inspired a team to high performance.
  • Strong connections with local and global enterprise customers.
  • Experience in consulting with CXO level executives within customer base.
  • Solid technical enterprise solutions background.
  • Fluency in English and Japanese
  • Willingness to travel.

  • Staff management experience with the ability to drive strategy and provide direction to team members.
  • Ability to ensure that the structure of the sales team is correctly positioned to meet the sales objectives.
  • Knowledge and execution of Sales Management including forecasting, gap/fit analysis, KPI creation, strategic account planning, etc.
