What you’ll be doing...

We are adding an RPA Engineer to work on a portfolio of innovative projects to enable digital operational excellence in Verizon Business Group (VBG) Customer Operations. The program direction includes artificial intelligence, operations automation, and industry leading omnichannel technology to improve the efficiency and client experience of our managed network and security services. The RPA Developer will leverage development best practices to implement end-to-end RPA solutions to meet business needs. They will develop software functionality in HTML, CSS, React, java (as examples) and participate actively in Agile squads, taking a leading role in discussions to help shape implementable user stories. Our current platform for automation is Automation Anywhere. This position will work at the office in Cary, North Carolina.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize business problems and solutions to identify use cases for RPA and whether it is the fit-for-purpose tool for the application
  • Use agile engineering practices and various software and web development technologies to rapidly develop creative and efficient solutions that enhance the client customer and employee experience
  • Demonstrate proficiency with workflow/e2e process tools, business objects, decision constructs, data type/structure management, exception handling mechanism
  • Execute various key bot activities (e.g., copy/paste data between applications and screens, OCR, keystroke programming, data comparisons)
  • Manage security and access control mechanisms (e.g., data encryption, credential management, robot entitlement process, single sign-on)
  • Collaborate with other agile team members to craft clear user stories, design tests for prototypes and products, and continuously deliver product enhancements
  • Support non-technical team members in understanding the technical implications of design decisions

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience
  • Four or more years of experience in RPA Development or Engineering
  • Knowledge of RPA deployment architecture for high-availability and scalability
  • Experience in designing and implementing projects in RPA automation and business process management (BPM)
  • Knowledge in building RPA solutions using leading RPA tools (e.g. Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism)
  • Knowledge of advanced automation technologies (e.g., machine learning, AI, Smart workflows etc.)
  • Must be able to work locally from the Verizon office in Cary, North Carolina
  • Willingness to travel as needed

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field
  • Experience working in a network operations center environment
  • Experience working across many different business and technical teams
