What you’ll be doing...

As the IT Project Management Specialist you will be part of the Operations, Planning and Development team responsible for designing business process flows and solution guides and train Client Services Management teams on newly deployed IT functionality and promote standardization and efficiencies of processes. You will leverage your understanding of Verizon IT system architecture and strong project management skills to manage and implement solutions that align with Verizon core strategy. When new strategic solutions are deployed, you will be relied upon as a mentor to guide cross functional teams in positively embracing change.

  • Regularly communicate status of customer projects to the applicable Account Teams and associated stakeholders ensuring continued stake holder support.
  • Partner with Verizon Account Teams and IT to identify key customer requirements for assigned customers and translate the identified customer requirements into Epics. Features and detailed User Stories.
  • Manage the submitted User Stories throughout the IT development lifecycle ensuring documented customer requirements are achieved through the detailed design, coding, and testing phases.
  • Partner with User Acceptance test (UAT) POC providing functional guidance and assist in ensuring the delivered functionality meets customer expectations.
  • Manage escalations when required to remove road blocks and help the team meet customer expectations.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Experience with business architecture of IT systems.
  • Experience managing cross-functional technical and business projects.
  • Experience with the Agile delivery process.
  • Experience successfully managing complex, cross-functional technical and business projects delivering high value to the business.
  • Knowledge of DMAIC Six Sigma.
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Knowledge of ITIL fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of ITIL Service Management disciplines: Asset Management, Change Management, Financial Management, Incident Management and Service Leve Management
  • Experience with database administration fundamentals with the ability to execute queries against database tables, perform analysis of the data
  • Knowledge of e-bonding between customer and supplier systems in the areas of : Asset Management, Change Management and Incident Management, particularly desired is experience with: ServiceNow, Digital Connect and VBES
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to define, generate and schedule complex: status, performance, and metric reports across all ITIL Service Management disciplines
  • Experience in Business Analysis acumen coupled with the Agile process to create User Stories in collaboration with the Value Team and IT to deliver business requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills facilitating cohesion within team as well as cross-functionally ensuring strong collaboration on assigned projects.
  • Ability as a self-starter and to lead business and technical projects with minimal management oversight.
