Job Title: XR Product Innovation Manager
Location: Bay Area, San Diego, NY/NJ, Boston, Irving, TX
As a member of the Product Innovation team, the XR Product Innovation Manager will be responsible for innovating and developing consumer and enterprise product concepts from inception to building proofs of concept to handing off for commercial development. The vast majority of this works happens at the nexus of 5G and XR. XR is defined as virtual and augmented realities, spatial computing, 3D content and adjacent technologies. Responsibilities span solution definition, technology evaluation, product/program management of proof of concepts, partner management, business development, and working across geographically and functionally dispersed teams.
Challenges are many and include identifying new opportunities, market pain points, fit for Verizon and path to monetization.
The XR Product Innovation Manager will work with many different teams to qualify new solutions and assess feasibility of implementation. The qualification process will include developing a business case, technical deep dive and assessing alignment with Verizon. Additionally, this position will work with outside partners to drive rapid prototyping efforts tested against pre-defined goals and KPIs. A successful candidate will be a confident collaborator, spokesperson and champion for their ideas and work diligently to build a coalition of internal support. A customer first mentality, out of the box thinking and a good strategic mindset are all critical for success.
As a Product innovation manager, you will be responsible for
- Managing external partners.
- Evaluating new XR technologies and their applicability for Verizon and 5G.
- Project managing/executing on projects in the pipeline.
- Identifying trends and developments in the rapidly evolving XR industry so as to keep the team informed and ahead of what is happening today.
- Working internally with consumer and enterprise product teams to identify opportunities, pain points and challenges that might be addressed with XR and 5G.
What we’re looking for...
You will need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in XR, gaming, 3D or other emerging technologies.
Even better if you have:
- A Master’s degree.
- Experience with game engines.
- Passion for XR technology and an early adopter.
- A wall or shelf full of antiquated XR HMDs.
- Superior communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of XR technologies.
- Relevant experience with VR or AR (consumer or enterprise).
- Experience with technical troubleshooting.
- Product management experience.
- Comfortable with ambiguity.
- Grand imagination.
- Willingness to travel.
