What you’ll be doing...

The position is part of the Business Transformation and Planning Office that is part of the Wireline Network Organization which encompasses over 25,000 managers and associates. You will be supporting Wireline Field operations that are responsible for building and operating the leading communications and information network in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states.

The Senior Manager – Process Engineering, will lead a team that will work with Field Operations and functional leaders at the highest levels to execute and maintain the transformational programs initiated in conjunction with McKinsey that have delivered in excess of $300M in benefit. This team will support a wide variety of tactical and transformative projects aimed at achieving strategic and financial objectives and preparing the business for the future. You will leverage Lean Six Sigma methodologies to identify areas of opportunity, develop solutions and drive full execution across the business. You will also be asked to drive business transformation efforts, new revenue-generating initiatives, and/or analytics across the entire Wireline Network Organization.

  • Develop long-term goals and strategic transformational initiatives.
  • Oversee initiative activities to ensure readiness for pilot and scale out.
  • Drive the successful implementation of critical programs or projects that enable transformation.
  • Support syndication of actions and objectives with key stakeholders.
  • Partner with business owners to support the design & implementation of new and in-flight initiatives.
  • Manage the effort/coordination required to automate dashboards for analysis and progress tracking.
  • Provide PMO support during large scale initiative roll-out.
  • Monitor and validate savings of initiatives.
  • Provide support for field operations in application of corrective actions.
  • Identify continued transformational opportunities and deploy accordingly.
  • Manage the development and implementation of procedures for effective data management.
  • Provide extensive data analysis, root causation and remedial actions plans for performance improvement.
  • Identify the organization's immediate and long-term objectives, including staffing and resource allocation, and formulate and monitor specific strategies to achieve them.
  • Create and maintain executive-level presentations for strategy and transformation initiatives, operational reviews, business unit reviews, capital planning, and product strategy.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma and/or Project Management.
  • Experience creating, developing and presenting Senior Executive Reviews, Project Overviews, and Operational Reviews to all levels of an organization.
  • Experience in handling confidential information appropriately.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Valid driver's license.

Even better if you have:

  • Degree in business, or a related technical field.
  • A Master's Degree/MBA.
  • Knowledge of Verizon FiOS products and end to end process understanding from ordering, fulfillment, provisioning, installation, billing and support.
  • Experience in outside plant Construction, Installation & Maintenance.
  • Knowledge of field operations practices and theory to analyze reporting and forecast future needs.
  • Communications industry background with experience in developing new processes and programs.
  • Interpreted collective bargaining agreements and/or managed in a unionized environment.
  • Expert level ability in the use of Microsoft Office; PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Experience using predictive modeling, data processing, and data mining algorithms to solve challenging business problems.
  • Ability to be an analytical & strategic thinker, with the ability to translate user needs, business objectives and technology capabilities into our overall best-in-class customer experience.
  • Ability to implement process optimization opportunities and weigh impact to determine priorities.
  • Forward looking mindset with outstanding analytical abilities.
  • Ability to exercise influence and drive results at senior levels, and building alignment around goals and objectives.
