What you’ll be doing...

The Senior Manager Project Management provides leadership and continuous development to a team of project managers and serves as the regional guardian for the delivery of key projects and programmes.

To this end the role entails the leadership and management of a team of Project Managers with the objective of retaining and growing key strategic customers by providing a ‘world-class customer experience’. This is accomplished by ensuring the end-to-end leadership and oversight of projects from quoting and ordering, design, provisioning, implementation, and hand-over to operations.

Through the team of Project Managers the Senior Manager will ensure that key client projects are planned, delivered to time, planned revenue and cost quality criteria. Ensure the team communicates in a professional manner keeping client and internal stakeholders regularly informed of progress, ensuring that all stakeholder expectations are managed, and that client commitments are consistently met. Key focus areas are maximizing customer satisfaction driven by timely delivery of project deliverables at the expected level of quality while realizing key Verizon objectives of maximizing revenue and continual cost optimization.

Key Objectives/responsibilities

  • Leads business critical projects to successful completion across multiple custom product towers and functional areas
  • Responsible for making tactical decisions, day-to-day management, planning, senior escalations and reporting
  • Providing governance and leadership to other tower owners, project teams and suppliers with clear input, context, prioritization and execution of program activities in all operating region
  • Oversee all third party vendors and manage requirements, costs, deliverables and contract performance related to the Program
  • Ensure all project requirements are routed to appropriate functional groups and monitored to completion
  • Act as primary POC to the Customer for all project/program delivery matters
  • Communicates and translates functional/operational goals into team goals
  • Provides regular and proactive communications (internal and external) to ensure all customer concerns are addressed readily. Conveys information in a concise and informative way – including escalations where necessary. This includes publishing regular status reports for all active projects
  • Assist Sales Management with all senior level escalations, regular performance reviews, reporting and relationship management
  • Participate in the development and sign-off of all project and programme plans
  • Assist Operations with input, planning, prioritization and execution and management of Operational activities in the Region Program and P&L Management
  • Ensure all project/programme revenue milestones are met and customer billing is triggered in a timely manner

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • A degree or equivalent work experience
  • Project Management certification, Prince2, PMP or similar
  • Previous experience within a telecommunications environment
  • Willingness to travel

    Even better if you have:

    • A degree in IT/Telecommunications, Electric Engineering, Computer Sciences
    • Proven leadership skills and capabilities
    • Ability to foster relationships and present to C-Levels within the Client Organization
    • Enterprise level client experience
    • ITIL Foundations v3, Advanced/Practitioner
    • Project Management experience with proven track record and experience with deploying and delivering complex solutions.
    • Familiarity with Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) and network elements
    • Experience in Service Management related to Network, Managed Services, CPE, Security
    • Knowledge of telecom applications, Hosted / DCS Services, IT Services, Unified Communications
    • Ability to manage and negotiate with required internal and external organizations
    • Experience working with international teams
    • Proficiency in customer enablement tools
    • Managing successful programmes, MSP or equivalent
    • Cisco Security Implementation Specialist (CSIS)
    • Cisco Certified Network Admin (CCNA) or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
    • Agile methodology training
