What you’ll be doing...

The Central Texas Network Implementation Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end implementation of small cell site solutions. You will help to build the foundation that keeps us in front of the competition. Your role will be pivotal to coordinate activities within the network function and across other teams to make completing complex projects look easy.

  • Cross functional work is required to collaborate with other teams in the Submarket including Real Estate, RF Design, Construction, Implementation, Operations, and System Performance.
  • Review RF Design documents to determine RAN equipment needs and translate this design into a full implementation scope of work to include appropriate power, baseband and minor materials.
  • Review closeout packages (COP’s) to drive quality and accuracy of installation of equipment by vendors.
  • Manage purchase orders to ensure that they are aligned with project implementation timelines.
  • Manage vendor relationships to confirm that equipment is delivered and received timely and accordance with company compliance guidelines.
  • Deliver on monthly spend targets that help support our capital commitments and maintain program cadence/run rates.
  • Utilize project tracking tools and systems to accurately document equipment orders, schedules and installation completions.
  • Providing clear direction and supervision to contractors, vendors, and/or other teams supporting small cell construction projects.
  • Providing guidance for site surveys to ensure small cell projects account for civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical feasibility.
  • Reviewing construction drawings while interfacing with local jurisdictions and municipalities on scope and designs.
  • Reviewing punch walk/acceptance check lists to ensure construction issues are identified and corrected.
  • Managing RFQ/RFP and contract processes via bid tools, awarding project, monitoring progress, providing regular status updates, and resolving issues.
  • Providing complete ownership of project financials, from initial proposal/bid through receipt of final product or service including project budget funding, adherence to budget spending, creation & tracking of purchase orders, and inspecting work performed by contractors.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with small cell construction in the right of way.
  • Knowledge of fiber installation and standards.
  • A valid Driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in a technical field.
  • Strong knowledge of 4G LTE technology.
  • Nokia experience.
  • Strong skill set in critical thinking, problem solving, and influencing/motivating of non-direct reports.
  • Experience managing many technical projects simultaneously and delivering results on time.
  • Excellent verbal, written, analytical and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with the full suite of Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office.
  • Subject matter expertise in Wireless/Cellular/Telecom RAN technologies.
  • Ability to coordinate and work well within a team environment to meet common goals.
