What you’ll be doing...

Carrier Management drives improved vendor relations, cost savings and AU Efficiency with 3rd Party Colocation Suppliers in the US by establishing dedicated headcount for this purpose. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all analysis and direct management of a number of 3rd Party Data Center Suppliers to Verizon in the US. This will include negotiating commercial terms, SLA compliance, identifying cost savings / avoidance opportunities. You will also be responsible for handling time-sensitive events that may require cross functional stakeholder involvement and escalations to the vendors and is responsible for leading cross-functional teams addressing the analytics including all of the financial and service performance of the vendor.

  • Negotiate New Complex Agreements with Data Center Providers for Colocation Related Services.
  • Review / redline and negotiate Business Terms, Financial impact of proposed agreement and related supporting documents that allow for the equipment installation to include Space/Power/Cabling/Cross Connects.
  • Liaise with engineering and operations for requirements and project clarifications.
  • Liaise with legal and follow all processes related to legal review and approval.
  • Negotiate renewals and augments of existing Data Center agreements.
  • Review Invoices, Revenue and inventory details.
  • Liaise with engineering and operations to validate utilization of inventory and identify cost saving opportunities.
  • Review / redline and negotiate renewal documents and pricing.
  • Liaise with legal and follow all processes related to legal review and financial approval.
  • Work with internal organizations to resolve issues that impact normal business activities.
  • Vendor Relationship Management.
  • Identify and escalate process gaps that lead to operational efficiencies and potential cost saving opportunities.
  • Insure all systems and tools are updated with pertinent contract documentation.
  • Identify cost savings / cost avoidance opportunities.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with knowledge of Excel.
  • Project management experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience in the telecommunications and/or technology industry.
  • Understanding data center connectivity, space and power
  • Experience with the contact negotiation process.
  • A professional certification (e.g. PMP).
  • Excellent collaboration and project management skills.
  • Ability to thoroughly research issues and develop solutions to complex problems.
  • Understanding of local network build process including standard intervals, roadblocks, requirements and process development.
  • Understanding of network build equipment and standards used in typical Telecom deployments.
  • Knowledge of typical space and power requirements supporting Telecom builds.
  • Excellent communication skills, time management skills, organizational skills.
  • Experience in contract interpretation, summarization of terms.
  • Ability to work effectively at both the operational and strategic level.
  • Ability to lead projects and work with multi-functional work teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a high intensity production driven and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to drive innovation and continuous improvements to evolve with changing needs.
  • Ability to understand needs and objectives of all stakeholders.
  • Extensive analytical, critical thinking, and judgment skills.
  • Ability to work independently and escalate when appropriate.
  • Extensive computing skills in Google Docs, Excel, PowerPoint and related systems for gathering/management of Service Performance measurements.
