What you’ll be doing...
The Senior Manager Process Engineering will work with business unit leaders and functional leaders at the highest levels within the organization to execute on a wide variety of strategic and transformative projects aimed at achieving the strategic and financial objectives of the business, and preparing the business for the future.
You will drive business transformation efforts, new revenue-generating initiatives, and/or analytics across one or more Verizon business units. These transformation initiatives will be conceived at the highest levels of the organization and, as such, will have the visibility at that level. Frame the initiative scope and strategy but will also lead the execution of the recommendations. You will lead the execution teams drawn from the Business Transformation group and the business and functional units. You will be responsible for overseeing various projects, processes and budgets all while being the Project Manager for Zero Based Budgeting (ZBB) for Contingent Labor.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding and analyzing various drivers impacting expense/capital metrics and outcomes as well as providing a fact-based recommendation to the stakeholders on how these expenses can be optimized.
- Project Manager lead for Zero Based Budgeting for Contingent Labor.
- Leading conception, scope definition, and execution of various types of strategic and operational business transformation initiatives, ranging from Corporate and Operational Strategy to Process Improvement.
- Providing proactive and engaged leadership on key projects designed to increase revenue, reduce expenses, enhance business efficiency, and improve customer experience.
- Acting as an effective change agent utilizing proper stakeholder analysis and change management techniques.
- Developing and implementing procedures for effective data management.
- Leading a team providing extensive data analysis, root causation and remedial actions plans for performance improvement.
- Working with the Director of Business Transformation and leaders, within the business units to provide effective leadership for the initiatives under analysis and execution.
- Providing senior leadership and functional unit management with updates on project status, key metrics, issues, and risks.
- Being a liaison between business units on projects that have a multi-organization or business unit scope.
- Proactively anticipating and working towards mitigating risks to project execution or stakeholder engagement.
- Actively working in cross disciplinary groups and making a case using rich data and presentation.
- Walking through executive presentations that explains the complex data and algorithms used in simple easy-to-understand visually striking content that leave a residual impact on an executive audience.
- Assisting teams in translating and coaching unstructured business problems into data science models and coming up with solutions.
- Adapting to quickly changing business environments and requests that come in related to upper level executive requests.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, or relevant technical discipline or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience.
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills, including ability to create presentations using MS PowerPoint and experience presenting to all levels of an organization
- Experience creating and presenting Senior Executive Reviews, Project Overviews, and Operational Reviews to all levels of an organization.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word).
Even better if you have:
- An MBA or advanced university degree.
- Experience working in a tier-1 management consulting organization.
- Experience in Wireline telecom or related industries.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma and/or Project Management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills, including ability to conduct outside/inside research, analyze data, and use MS Excel effectively to develop models and drive analyses.
- Proven record for managing multiple simultaneous projects on time and budget.
- Ability to drive results at all levels, regardless of reporting structures.
- Proven record of performance and trusted professional credibility.
- Experienced team leader with proven facilitation, change management, and problem solving experience.
- Comfort in working up and across the organization – working with senior staff members and front line employees.
- Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking that results in new ideas that drive the business forward.
- Track record of handling extremely confidential information appropriately.
- Willingness to travel.
- Valid driver's license.
