What you’ll be doing...
Verizon seeks an experienced Contract Manager to join its Federal Sector legal team in Ashburn, Virginia, and manage a GSA Schedule contract. This position will be responsible for: analyzing customer solicitations, adding product to the GSA Schedule 70, developing proposal documents, negotiating terms and conditions, resolving contract disputes, and administering contract close-outs. The Contract Manager will work closely with the attorneys to support cross-functional teams including sales, project management, finance, billing, and other organizations that support the Federal Sector sales effort. You will interface with key customers, interpret and negotiate contract terms, interact with Verizon senior management and Legal, and must have excellent interpersonal skills as well as sound business and legal judgment.
- Support all aspects of Verizon’s sale and provision of services to the federal government.
- Perform pre-award and post-award contract administration for a GSA Schedule 70.
- Update and maintain GSA Schedule compliance process documents and reference manuals.
- Manage resources to support program activities and serve as liaison to resolve GSA schedule-related issues.
- Maintain contract files and communicate with government Contracting Officers.
- Conduct customer negotiations over both contract terms and contract disputes.
- Assist counsel in negotiating non-standard terms and significant contract disputes.
- Support federal sales teams by providing advice on existing contract vehicles, guidance on the federal procurement process, and advice on how to close sales efficiently and in compliance with federal and corporate policy.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience.
- Three or more years of experience with GSA Schedules (particularly IT 70).
- Experience with drafting and negotiating contracts.
- Willingness to travel.
Even better if you have:
- Business acumen, effective oral and written communication skills, strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with project management, program and regulatory compliance.
