What you’ll be doing...

You'll be a wireless Hub Engineerin Florida. The Hub Engineer role is highly demanding, fast-paced, and requires exceptional time management and communications skills across multiple disciplines. The majority of the work is in an office environment; some of the work requires travel and outside work. Most outside work is at outdoor cell sites throughout Florida.

As the Hub Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing project management and supervision of PSC construction activities, from creation to integration, at the wireless Hub including: HVAC adds/upgrades, AC power needs, shelter replacements and hot swaps, power plants, and batteries.
  • Working knowledge of RF & Fiber interfaces (OSP/ISP), and related testing procedures for both.
  • Assisting Network Assurance with integration and potential system performance issues and provide feedback to allow for proper integration/acceptance.
  • Providing complete ownership of project financials, from initial proposal/bid through receipt of final product or service including project budget funding, adherence to budget spending, creation & tracking of purchase orders, and inspecting work performed by contractors.
  • Providing accurate, timely, and concise communications; express and explain issues clearly; update project trackers daily; e-mail and call project members frequently.
  • Providing clear direction and supervision to contractors, vendors, and/or other teams supporting upgrade projects.
  • Managing RFQ/RFP and contract processes via bid tools, awarding project, monitoring progress, providing regular status updates, and resolving issues.
  • Providing guidance for site surveys to ensure cell site upgrade projects account for civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical feasibility.
  • Reviewing site survey reports with a focus on measurements, power readings, HVAC assessments, photos, drawings, issues, and recommendations for upgrade projects.
  • Reviewing punch walk/acceptance check lists to ensure construction issues are identified and corrected.
  • Evaluating new products, services, and vendors. Weigh the pros and cons, including impact to the system, costs, compatibility, and ease of use, and reliability.
  • Interfacing with internal and external departments to include Real Estate, Regulatory, and municipal agencies in the pursuit of construction and in-service approvals, building permits, and construction inspections.

What we’re looking for...

      You’ll need to have:

      • Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.
      • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
      • Knowledge of Ericsson equipment, power, cooling, and CPRI mux/patch panels.
      • Willingness to travel
      • Valid Driver's License.

      • Willingness to work flexible hours including nights and weekends; answer phone calls when crews are on site supporting your projects; respond to e-mails; and actively lead and participate in project/team meetings.
