What you’ll be doing...

We’re looking for an Equipment Engineer in the Florida sub-market. The Equipment Engineer role is fast-paced, and requires exceptional time management and communications skills across multiple disciplines. This role will play a critical role inthe success of our wireless Hub program in the coming years. The majority of the Equipment Engineer work is in an office environment. As an Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Project scoping for wireless Hub projects to ensure we have proper space, power and cooling.
  • HVAC upgrades, battery refresh, and GEN adds (CP&G)
  • Providing accurate, timely, and concise communications; express and explain issues clearly; update project trackers daily; e-mail and call project members frequently.
  • Providing clear direction and supervision to contractors, vendors, and/or other teams supporting upgrade projects.
  • Managing RFQ/RFP and contract processes via bid tools, awarding project, monitoring progress, providing regular status updates, and resolving issues.
  • Providing guidance for site surveys to ensure cell site upgrade projects account for civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical feasibility.
  • Reviewing site survey reports with a focus on measurements, power readings, HVAC assessments, photos, drawings, issues, and recommendations for upgrade projects.
  • Ordering of equipment associated with assigned projects.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.
  • Knowledge of Ericsson LTE/AWS base stations; Ericsson Remote Radio Units; JMA and Commscope Remote Electrical Tilt Antennas, hybrid cables, and CPRI mux/patch panels.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Willingness to travel.

  • Ability to be a self-managed and a self-starter with ability to manage in challenging circumstances.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities, competing priorities, and situations in which guidelines can change.
  • Ability to learn new processes and technologies quickly; retain information; and eager to do research and finding info and answers.
  • Ability to adapt to different settings and investigate/implement alternate approaches to resolve difficult problems with minimum management input.
  • Experience in computer applications: Google Gmail, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
