What you’ll be doing...

The Engineering Data Analytics team has an immediate opening for a Principal DevOps Engineer needed to maintain and support the organization. Support includes both Windows and Linux server maintenance, code migrations, data processing with the development of ETL's and ensuring company standards are met. Active team member who thrives in a team environment and is motivated to learn the business environment and provide alternate views and recommendations.

  • Researching, evaluating, and implementing dev-ops processes to support software development life cycle.
  • Source code management.
  • Collaborating with your various LOBs (Line of Business) to understand business needs and market strategies staying up to date on all the product initiatives and plans.
  • Performing ETL and integrating multiple data sources and software tools with business line specific decision support and data analysis.
  • Create logging, alerting, and response to ensure issue captured and addressed,
  • Consulting on database architecture and related infrastructure technologies.
  • Deploying and manage applications on the windows server.
  • Understanding of server migration process.
  • Documentation of server deployment and processes.
  • Deploying and testing applications on the server.
  • Supporting web applications for high availability deployments.
  • Automating end to end processes with minimal manual intervention.
  • Writing custom code and scripts for test processes.
  • Conducting systems tests for security, performance, and availability.
  • Working in a Linux and Windows Server environment. Providing 24x7 technical and/or analytical support to solve a wide range of complex issues/problems.
  • Periodically making recommendations that aid in the successful completion of projects within a product or functional area.
  • Working with the application users, monitoring and maintenance of the application and servers and the ability to help drive new projects forward.
  • Working with management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Locating and defining new process improvement opportunities.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, or Computer Science.
  • Knowledge of the PostgreSQL architecture.
  • Experienced in installing, configuring and upgrading Enterprise DB/Postgres databases and clusters
  • Experience with programming and languages such as Perl, PHP, XML, and/or shell scripting.
  • Experience with Oracle and MySQL databases (including SQL Plus, SQL Dev) including performance tuning.
  • Experience in ETL development.
  • Experience with Server administration and maintenance.
  • NodeJS experience.
  • AWS deployment experience.
  • Strong in Linux /windows server administration.
  • Strong DevOps experience.
  • Familiar with code deployment tools (puppet , chef).
  • Experience with software automation production systems (Jenkins, selenium).
  • Experience in network server and application status monitoring.
  • Experience in management of data in SQL and/or NoSQL databases (Postgres, Oracle, Teradata, Hadoop, Casandra, MongoDB).
  • Knowledge of Java, Python, and Javascript.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to decipher key insights from data helping to drive business processes
  • Team player that will work with a team of inter-disciplinary experts.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to convey complex information to management.
  • Ability to adapt to quickly changing business environment and requests, that come in related to management requests.
  • Experience with analytical and problem solving technical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with accuracy and developing algorithms.
