What you’ll be doing...

Verizon Wireless Network Device Evaluation and Performance team has an exciting opportunity involving the state of the art wireless device technology. You will be getting first-hand experience on the newest devices before they are launched on the Verizon Wireless Network. You will work on cutting edge wireless technology and applying theory to functional/performance verification. In this role you will be the LTE/NR RF subject matter expert and have the single point ownership for approving new features on devices that are launched on the Verizon Wireless network. As the Test Platform & Technology owner you will be involved from requirement, to test case creation, to test development/validation, to test strategy and production-ready testing. You will be responsible for leading the development and validation of RF test platforms involving OTA and conducted testing as well as manage the new feature test strategy to ensure appropriate certification coverage.

  • Identify and implement tools and systems for test management, progress tracking, issues reporting and metrics development.
  • Engage device OEMs to receive early feedback on new devices and pre-launched devices, through ‘OEM Outreach’ and developmental engagements.
  • Gain thorough understanding of upcoming features and interaction with other legacy features. Review and provide feedback at the requirements and test plan creation stage to simplify the certification process.
  • Anticipate testing requirements and develop improvised test suites when standards (3GPP/GCF, CTIA) or VZW test cases are not developed in time for first devices being launched with new feature.
  • Investigate new ways to evolve test methodology with the intention to improve device certification accuracy, cost, and effort and run times.
  • Focus on creating efficiencies on test platforms and environments to improve automation and overnight production testing.
  • Develop certification test coverage and strategy for the internal test team and 3rd Party Labs, supporting Verizon Wireless network deployment plans.
