What you’ll be doing...

The Verizon Consumer Group’s Distribution Strategy organization is responsible for synthesizing the business unit’s overarching sales, marketing, and customer experience strategies into a plan of action for Verizon’s physical retail distribution channels (corporate owned, agents, and National Retailers). In addition, this team leads the Consumer organization’s execution strategy and designs and drives the execution of transformational business model changes in all our distribution channels.

In Verizon 2.0, omni and cross-channel interactions are becoming increasingly common, and analytics and business intelligence use cases that cross functional groups will be required at a higher rate. Currently, omni use cases that cross groups/channels are difficult to prioritize, assemble subject matter expertise to support, and project manage. To address this, we are standing up an Omni Analytics team within the Distribution Strategy organization.

As the Senior Manager, Omni Analytics, you will stand up this new team and function and will be responsible for:

  • Creating the governance infrastructure for omni analytics projects, including identifying the primary analytics stakeholders, establishing a governance team incorporating analytics leaders from across the organization, creating and implementing processes for analytics project intake and prioritization
  • Developing and managing ongoing project management support for omni analytics projects, including creating a team of analytics professionals and developing them into effective project managers, overseeing the delivery of cross-functional analytics projects by the PM team, and facilitating governance, quality control, and senior executive readouts on projects
  • Ensuring a robust knowledge base is updated and shared by establishing a repository for the findings from all projects to date and ensuring appropriate organizational access

The Senior Manager will provide a consistent level of leadership, partnership, and executive visibility for the Omni Analytics work by collaborating with colleagues across the organization and presenting the collective work directly to an audience of Directors, VPs, and above.

You are analytical and process oriented, which helps you understand the needs of your internal customers and gain consensus and drive progress through influence. You have the ability to drive results at all levels with a proven record of performance and trusted professional credibility. You’re passionate about a career that allows you to recommend strategic decisions and support their successful implementation. You have a strong focus on analytics, end-to-end operational processes, and customer experience; ideally, you've worked in or led an analytics team in the past.

You must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in analytics, business intelligence, finance, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • 3+ years actively working in Business Intelligence or Analytics at Verizon.
  • Experience with Teradata SQL required.

Even better if you have:

  • 7-10 years of relevant work experience.
  • An MBA, or an M.S. in a related field.
  • A background in R, Python, SAS, or Minitab.
  • 2+ years of project management experience leading cross-functional teams in complex/matrix. environments -or- 2+ years directly managing a team in the analytics space.
  • Work experience in, or highly relevant to, retail in the wireless industry.
  • Excellent executive presentation skills.
  • Experience and/or passion for developing your team’s skills and a focus on their learning and development.
  • A high degree of proficiency with M.S. Office tools, particularly Excel.
  • A demonstrated ability to work with, understand, and manage data.
