What you’ll be doing...

You will be joining the marketing team for consumer products at Verizon. In this role you will proactively identify opportunities that drive revenue growth, build loyalty, or increase NPS (Net Promoter Score) with the consumer base. You will partner with Business Insights and database resources to segment the base and identify opportunities and formulate new ideas and innovative approaches. When necessary you will work with finance and operations teams to approve and build out the ideas. Responsibilities will include execution related actions such as coordinating inbound and outbound communications, timing logistics, testing and caring for a clean rep and customer experience. Scope also extends beyond execution to retrospective, post-promo analysis and feeding learnings back into the beginning of the process. All programs should be as personalized as possible and provide benefits to both the customer and VZW. Successful candidate will need to drive bottom up data-driven recommendations as well as adapt to top-down requirements from executive leadership.

The ideal candidate will have financial experience and/or strong strategic, analytical, project management, and marketing skills. We need someone who is dedicated and who can guide the vision and strategy behind the consumer portfolio by developing marketing plans and driving innovation. You will work regularly across functions to identify consumer and customer insights and develop marketing and/or product strategies that will continue to drive business results.

You will lead a mix of marketing and strategy projects enabling you to show the breadth and depth of your leadership. You will need to derive insights from data, which will enable leaders as they set the direction for growth. Overall, we want people who aren't afraid to take smart risks and innovate.

Key responsibilities include:

Strategic:

  • Identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats for VZW through analysis of: our own commercial value prop, market conditions and trends, existing KPI reports, consumer insights, customer service feedback, executive leadership guidance, and ad hoc data warehouse research.
  • Decipher performance across a variety of metrics: i.e. KPIs, Segmentation, Propensity, etc. to uncover new opportunities for growth and revenue from the Verizon base.
  • Use broad industry perspective to interpret competitive information, draw intelligent conclusions, provide assessments at the strategic and tactical level, formulate promo recommendations on proactive and/or reactive actions and take action to execute upon approved recommendations.

Tactics/Operations:

  • Utilize experience and business knowledge to develop roadmaps for the innovation portfolio, offer strategy, and marketing as well as guide strategy & execution of key marketing programs.
  • Develop end to end promotional campaigns including but not limited to ideation, financial business cases, execution strategy, customer journey mapping and post-promo analysis.
  • Facilitate proposal alignment between Finance and Marketing through business case development.
  • Have experience with developing customer journeys, writing user stories, and defining product requirements with IT
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop unique promo campaigns that will differentiate Verizon in the industry while driving growth.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau.

  • A degree.
  • Experience in marketing and finance-related roles, such as market research, financial analysis, pricing, product marketing, or strategic planning.
  • Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills with the ability to see things not readily apparent to others and to find unique solutions to complex challenges.
  • Experience working collaboratively with and presenting ideas and content to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience taking initiative, working with minimal supervision, and independently managing concurrent projects to timely completion.
