What you’ll be doing...

The Lead System Engineer will be apart of Verizon’s Business Group working on our online service management platform supporting customers from the time the service is installed to when it’s disconnected.Our customers and business partners have high expectations for our digital platforms in terms of innovative, efficient, best in service Customer Experience (CX) solutions. That’s where you come in.

  • Leading a team of engineers that will provide innovative business solutions using leading edge technologies.

  • Interfacing with various IT and business organizations to build larger solutions and make Verizon's operations efficient and customer experience the best in the industry.

  • Guiding team members to design and implement optimal solutions to complex problems in order to meet critical business needs.

  • Providing solutions both by directly working on them as well as planning and organizing the work for the larger team.

What we’re looking for...

You view technology through a lens of making things better and more effective. You enjoy the process of solving complex issues while empowering the team around you to do the same. You have expert level hands-on technical skills paired with excellent communication. You have strong domain experience in application tools, digital delivery methods, and all aspects of the solution. You thrive on creating continual improvements to the digital value chain.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience leading Agile technical teams.

  • Experience developing end-to-end enterprise solutions.

  • Experience with cloud hosted application architecture.

  • Experience with Java, Weblogic/JBoss,Apache/Nginx.

  • Experience with Oracle PL/SQL.

  • Experience with Apache Kafka and/or pulsar.

  • Experience with Docker/Kubernetis.

Even better if you have:

  • AWS developer and/or Architect certification.

  • Experience with 24x7, globally deployed, CX driven solutions.

  • Experience with Python and Machine Learning.

  • Experience with chatbots, Google DialogFlow, LivePerson.

  • Experience with RabbitMQ or other message queue platforms.

  • Experience with Javascript with AngularJS and/or React.

  • Experience with DevOps tooling; YAML/Ansible.

  • Experience with Oracle OBIEE.

  • Experience with Elastic Search or ELK stack.
