What you’ll be doing...

If you are curious about new technology and the possibilities it creates, then this job may be perfect for you. As part of the SDN/NFV technology lab team, you will be responsible for new technology deployment, testing, and integration of virtualized NFV applications. These applications cover the gamut of virtual network appliances, including routing, firewalls, SD-WAN, Wan Optimization, and Session Border Controllers that are implemented across a variety of voice, data, and video services networks.

  • Collaborating with key partners to develop automation for Router, Security, Load Balancer, SD WAN and WAN Optimization test suites.
  • Building and maintaining SDN/NFV test environments.
  • Validating platform and VNF/application security.
  • Supporting VNF/application testing and integration efforts.
  • Identifying, analyzing, and correcting VNF/application interoperability issues.
  • Collaborating with IT and Operations to ensure linkage to Service Assurance.
  • Driving standardization and implementation of automation and tools.
  • Champion for promoting and implementing SDN-NFV technologies.
  • Evolving network integration efforts and testing methods.
  • Accelerating continuous integration/delivery, DevOps, and other approaches that will help simplify processes and drive improvements in time to market.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Professional level understanding of L2/L3 networking technologies, including TCP/UDP, IPv4/v6, routing protocols, VLANs, etc. Certifications highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in test planning, design, and execution.
  • Understanding of Linux including networking and shell scripting.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Experience with SDN and Cloud architecture and technologies including Openstack, Openflow and OpenDaylight.
  • Experience with Service Providers specific L2/L3 network use cases.
  • Experience working with software-based networking and tenancy constructs.
  • Experience with common virtualization technologies, including vxLAN, SR-IOV, DPDK, Hypervisors, vSwitch, Virtual Machines and orchestration tools.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, and Python Scripting.
  • Knowledge of Red Hat and/or Mirantis OpenStack.
  • Relevant certifications.
  • Communications, interpersonal, organizational, problem solving, presentation, and multi-objective skills.
  • Critical thinking skills and attention to detail
