What you’ll be doing...

We are looking for a talented professional passionate about technology, drones, aviation, or all of the above. In this role, you’ll manage financial analytics, forecasting, and budgeting for the Skyward organization in Verizon. You’ll be responsible for working with Skyward’s President and the rest of the leadership team. You’ll support a variety of FP&A initiatives, leading business analytics initiatives and preparing financial models for the organization to determine the viability of product strategies, go-to-market strategies, partner optimization strategies, promotional initiatives, new business models, and other investment decisions. This position requires a thorough understanding of financial operations and P&L management, and significant experience building tactical and strategic financial models to make the best-informed decisions possible.

Responsibilities associated with the position include:

  • Preparing financial and economic analysis for senior management to determine the viability of revenue initiatives, discount and customer incentives, and other investment initiatives.
  • Partnering with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams on the pricing strategy.
  • Developing financial models, tools, and corresponding assumptions used to evaluate the profitability of customer acquisition and retention initiatives, account optimization initiatives, marketing investments, go-to-market strategies, partnership negotiations, and other initiatives.
  • Defining and managing key operational indicators and KPIs for the company, including defining and managing annual and quarterly operating objectives, managing hiring to plan, capital forecasting and execution, and space planning.
  • Serving as liaison between Skyward leadership team and Verizon corporate finance and accounting, ensuring adequate processes and controls are in place for the business unit and leads the company to achieve its financial targets.
  • Analyzing the financial profitability of new and existing products and services through the development of business cases and net present value models.
  • Preparing financial presentation materials and formal business case documents for use with senior management.
  • Managing a team of three people, including billings, invoicing, purchasing, office management, and administrative support.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Six or more years of diversified experience with an emphasis in financial planning and analysis.
  • Experience with financial operations, financial planning and analysis, and ROI analysis.
  • Experience working with all levels of management.
  • Experience problem solving and using negotiating skills while working in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
  • Experience with spreadsheet, presentation, and word processing software.

Even better if you have:

  • B.S. or B.A. in Finance, Accounting or a suitable quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Economics).
  • An MBA.
  • Experience with SAP, NetSuite, and/or PeopleSoft.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and motivational skills.
  • A drive for results.
  • Self-starter habits with proven collaboration skills.
  • Experience managing financial operations in an engineering organization.
  • Experience in both start-up and Fortune 500 corporate FP&A.
  • Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Thorough understanding of key industry metrics and operational drivers.
  • A passion for drones and/or aviation.
