What you’ll be doing...

You’ll be leading the team charged with the administration of Verizon’s Risk Management program, coordinating policies, processes, people and systems and partnering with business leaders to identify and mitigate financial, operational, legal, regulatory and reputational risks. Your team will be addressing compliance, ESG and privacy initiatives. You’ll keep our operations accurate, compliant, and running like clockwork. Your work will help us improve our processes and come up with ways to make our control environment even stronger.

  • Leading your team to handle all aspects of risk inherent in the department or function and making decisions concerning the scope of work to be performed based on those risks.
  • Assessing current and potential risks based on the potential financial, legal and reputation impacts to the company.
  • Developing, designing and implementing compliance, privacy and ESG strategies and making recommendations to senior management.
  • Assisting with development, implementation and maintenance of privacy and data protection policies, procedures and programs for HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA and other emerging domestic and global privacy laws.
  • Developing and implementing prioritized work plans based on risk assessments, business partner feedback and emergence of new laws and regulations.
  • Continually determining modifications to strategy to support business priorities and perceived risks to profitability and asset protection.
  • Providing leadership in administering our privacy and ESG frameworks including; review of process documentation, management training, establishment and assessment of management test plans and results, and remediation plans.
  • Leading, designing and implementing controls to improve financial performance, transactional accuracy and ensuring compliance.
  • Ensuring adequate coverage of significant risks through delegation of resources for monitoring and review of standard reports, risk model analysis and associated field work.
  • Preparing and delivering presentations on risks mitigated, and the potential impacts of unmitigated risks to senior management.
  • Providing mentorship on the effective development and implementation of privacy controls.
  • Performing ESG and privacy risk assessments and ongoing compliance monitoring activities.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in operational Compliance, business controls or Finance.
  • Experience in developing and executing audit/test procedures.
  • Leadership and/or project management experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with controls design and evaluation.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Math, or Information Systems.
  • A Master's degree in Business Administration.
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • A Professional certification (CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE).
  • Five or more years of leadership experience directly managing all aspects of risk.
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification.
  • Niche knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and other emerging privacy laws and regulations.
  • Highly analytical; can synthesize large amounts of information and produce clear, concise and organized summaries, visualizations and documentation.
  • Experience with report writing/database software.
  • Experience driving complex solutions and analytics to provide ongoing and automated monitoring of key risks.
  • Experience formulating, affecting, interpreting and implementing policies and processes to ensure a strong control environment.
  • Experience leveraging auditing principles and methods to evaluate policies, processes and systems.
  • Telecommunications experience.
  • Knowledge of statistics, reporting and analytical tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analytics and presentation.
