What you’ll be doing...

As the Product Delivery Engineer – Advanced Communications, you will be applying your technical expertise and Product knowledge to support the critical function of Offering Delivery & Transformation (OD&T) for the Global Customer Operations organization. Your role will involve the technical analysis and verification of Products leveraging advanced telephony communication technologies to enable digital transformation initiatives of Verizon Business Group customers. We are constantly innovating to bring the best cutting-edge technologies to our customers to enable them to work faster and smarter and you can be part of the team to make this happen.

  • Work closely with development engineers, implementation engineers and OD&T Product Solutions Engineers to ensure new product launches meet both time to market and customer experience requirements
  • Provide feedback on product to Product Development engineering team to ensure product is feasible and incorporates requirements for implementation and service assurance.
  • Act as technical interface with product during delivery process design.
  • Design and execute necessary testing to validate operational readiness for service assurance and delivery functions.
  • Provide onboarding support by leading implementation for initial customers of new product launch.
  • Generate documentation required for test planning & execution, implementation guides, management solution guidelines, and troubleshooting and operational support guidelines.
  • Perform strategic analysis & comparison of competitive advanced telephony communication evolution and trends including but not limited to SIP trunking, ACD, IP IVR Self-Services and video conferencing.
  • Support for the integration of Advanced telephony communication solutions with other networking technology infrastructures such as MPLS VPNs (Private IP Networks), broadband access, LTE, SDWAN and Network Function Virtualization (NFV).
  • Technical participation and feedback for both product development and customer trials of Advanced telephony communication products.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Six or more years relevant work experience.
  • Experience with design or development or support of products leveraging Unified Communication and Collaboration (i.e. Cisco, Microsoft, Avaya or Broadsoft) that can be deployed in premise or cloud or hybrid based solutions.
  • Ability to understand VoIP call flow, industry codecs and QoS traffic engineering as it pertains to SIP IP Trunking and Session Border Controllers (i.e. Ribbon, Cisco, and Oracle).

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in a scientific or quantitative field (e.g. math, EE, computer science, etc.)
  • Experience in the architecture experience in conceptualization, definition and development of large enterprise or service provider based products and services with verifiable instances implementing one or more of the following: Knowledge of Data and IP Services (Managed Network Services, VoIP, MPLS, VPN, VNS, SDWAN), knowledge of Data Center Outsourcing (application hosting, managed storage), knowledge of storage networking or cloud computing.
  • Experience with video conferencing and or immersive video technologies or solutions that leverage soft phone clients such a Cisco Jabber.
  • Written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; capability to communicate internally, upward, and cross functionally.
  • Experience in the communications and/or network industry in an operations, technical design and engineering role, with an emphasis on IP-based network, communications and telephony solutions.
  • Programming language or scripting experience (Python, Ansible, etc.)
  • Configuration and troubleshooting experience with Contact Center, Call Recording, IP IVR Services and Network Routing.
  • Experience with fault management, alarm and incident handling workflow automation, and performance management tools (e.g. Assure1, SMARTS, SevOne, ServiceNow).
