What you’ll be doing...

This position is responsible for managing federal contracting and proposal response activities related to the development, negotiation, and execution of Verizon Wireless’ Federal contracts.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Processing of all Federal proposal response, negotiation, and execution (Contracts, Proposals, etc.).
  • Formulate proposals based on RFx requirements.
  • Generates and archives all contract documents relating to Verizon Wireless’ Contract vehicles in accordance with corporate and federal regulations.
  • Provides strategic direction to the Federal sales team on progress and issues in regard to current RFx requests.
  • Effectively and proficiently manage and advise Contract Management Consultants on contractual and proposal related items, when needed.
  • Serve as backup for Senior Manager, Contracts & Proposals team, when required. Will delegates work to lower-banded team members, as necessary.
  • Counsel clients at all levels and in all departments regarding contractual and operational compliance matters with significant revenue and other liability exposures.
  • Ensure terms and conditions are in accordance with Verizon Wireless business practices, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs) and State and Local Government regulations.
  • Provide strategic direction on the progress and issues in regard to current RFP responses to facilitate a smooth transition to the formal account implementation and migration process.
  • Ownership for Federal proposal generation, negotiation and execution.
  • Provide support to clients by developing, reviewing, and negotiating time sensitive contracts, proposal, and other legal documents associated with the conduct of business for Verizon Wireless.
  • Manage response process of multiple requests for proposals, often with short turnaround periods.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Sourcing, or Supply Chain or four or more years of experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Technical Writing (i.e., developing customer-facing documents)
  • Experience working with competitive bids/RFXs, as well as direct negotiations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite applications.

Even better if you have:

  • Advanced degree (Juris Doctor).
  • Knowledgeable on Federal Acquisition Regulations and Federal Procurement Process.
  • Contract/Proposal Management certification.
  • Knowledge of Shipley Proposal Management.
  • Experience reviewing and/or preparing legal documents and/or contracts.
  • Well-developed negotiation and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills to propose resolution to complex business issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all management levels and functions.
  • Strong knowledge of telecommunications products and technologies.
